err i did, his boat does not have a licence, he lost it. What am i missing? It was a raft, not his actual boat. However, he does actually bring about his own downfalls, stubborn seems to be his state of mind. Having contributed last time, I won't again. I can't see there being another fund raiser for a raft that can't have cost more than Β£50 to knock together. He definately doesn't seem to help himself in these situations, but it doesn't excuse cart's behaviour.

I've always worked on the principle of I'll help you if you show me you want to help yourself. Tony is a bit stubborn.

Agree totally with Jenlyns take on this One of the posts was saying "I kept asking him when he was going to move it" another one who had helped with the crowd funding saying that he wouldn't again. Sorry Kris, pick your fights. Some people cannot be helped and seem determined on a course of self destruction ..... you just have to let them go their own way

CRT will never get a grip on public relations, that's why Ian Rodgers left. They have a generally good front line of staff, sadly let down by very poor management qualities and actions. It's in reality two seperate organisations at war with each other. (Remember the staff bullying accusations?) You hear it, see it and feel it whenever you are amongst them. You can even see it on their own fb and Twitter accounts at times. Simply bad leadership really.

Really? As a non facebook user all I get is a picture of cart unloading tools from a pontoon. I have to say the pontoon is not of their normal standard. Funny that, as I saw your fb profile on a post with Debbie figgy, or was that Twitter? That was Twitter! Never been on FB

Yes. (Mind you, you could always read the posts in the link and find out for yourself) I can't see any posts, but then I'm not a Facebook member.

What would you have done if you been running CRT, or working for them in a higher managerial position, the kind of position where you can use some wisdom and discretion? Remember that bending over for this one chappie means that you'll have to bend over for everyone else who wants to copy his stance - otherwise you'll be labelled as 'discriminatory'. What has this man done for his country? Perhaps I have done more, yet am labelled as a 'foreigner' here by you because I don't currently reside in the UK.

What does that mean? That he stubbornly refuses help from others? That he stubbornly insists on paying for a CRT licence? What is he stubborn about? I remember he was/is regarded as a bit of a whizz 'mechanic' so perhaps he's a really nice bloke and helps people with their boat technical issues and stubbornly refuses payment from them?

Some people cannot be helped and seem determined on a course of self destruction ..... you just have to let them go their own way I think you might misunderstand why I have posted this John. I'm not saying the boater is right. He obviously isn't helping himself in the situation. But this doesn't excuse cart's behaviour. Imagine if it was you who had just had a stroke and had to deal with this. He is obviously liked enough that the people around him want to help him, which is just as well because cart despite all their claims of becoming a well being charity seem determined to see him in his grave.

I get what you mean as regards CRT behaviour ..... but let's be honest, it was not a stroke that made him build a raft too big to be free of licence as a tender, then not move it in spite of his friends urging him to. The stroke was after the "offence" (word used for lack of a more suitable one) .... taking it to another extreme ..... if someone is caught speeding, are given a fine, fail to pay it, then when enforcement starts fall ill ...... do you think they should be let off ? As I said, some people seem hell bent on self destruction. Save your sympathy and help for those who can be helped

But I can empathise with other people's situations, I despair at the un caring attitude in our modern society. I posted it here for wider desemination, so the actions of cart are out in the open for all to see.

Bloke I know has been shuffling along no further than five miles and back again for the two last two years, he is now on a restricted licence and guess what? Yep still shuffling the same route with his licence about to expire, told him what will happen if he doesnβt put the miles in before Xmas but nope, he knows best and they wonβt dare take his boat off him...
People will always take the piss then moan when it all goes south.
