Has anyone used one of these ? Like the little Wallas ones. I've located a Volvo Flygmotor unit and will be fitting it in my yot when I receive it.
What is the difference between a paraffin and a diesel heater ?
It specifically says lamp oil (premium paraffin) so it must be a different operation to an eversplasher type.
12v 0.3a and 0.1 litre per hour Approx 1kw heating. Blown air.
Paraffin is expensive but for occasional use its not too bad and it seems to be a very small unit which is helpful.

In a previous boat I had a flygmotor blown air heater, if you gave me another I would skip it, the most useless piece of shit heater that I've ever owned. As for spares they were non existent, this was 1993.

Well I'm going to give it a go for 1/8 the price of the Wallas thing.
@gazza I think your Wallas might be a DT 30 D as in diesel.
Or is it a paraffin unit. They seem to be different.

I am wondering if the fuel pump might be fekked. I'm also installing a small wood burner and a matrix heater running off the engine so its not going to be particularly serious if its a load of scrap but I am interested to know why it might be

D40 = 4kw Diesel as you rightly say. On a 27' aft cockpit boat it's hot enough to strip to your under crackers when it's going full tilt.

From memory same sort of things that most heaters of this type need. It was along time ago and I only managed to get it running once or twice in the year I owned it. Next owner didn't have much luck with it either.
