Yes, you are right again. Phhttt!!! Tidied up as it's before the 9 O'Clock watershed. But not erased entirely, as he is a cunt.

Can I ask why on earth you felt compelled to share that? Rog I have absolutely no idea what Mike Ashley has to do with a Briggs and Stratton engined generator either.

When I purchased our genny on recommendations, I had been looking at a Kipur which was virtually half the price for a similar model.
However I received lots of advice against Kipur.
What's the feeling about Kipur gennys now?

What's the feeling about Kipur gennys now? Rog I’ve got one at my caravan. Starts easily, reasonably quiet, does what it’s supposed to. So seems fine to me. Although I should say I don't use it that much so it hasn’t yet accumulated many hours.

Thanks.
Seem great value by comparison, if reliable.

The kipor I bought second hand earlier in the year, has started to get difficult to start. But this is not really a comprehensive survey. I would say the build quality isn't amazing but I haven't had a new Honda to compare it to. The Honda ex models where very good in this dept which s why there are lots of them still being used.

EX are the best but quite heavy so not ideal for less powerfully built individuals. The EU (20 and below) are lighter but much more tinny The 26 is okay but heavy.
I think heavy is good myself. I had a lovely ex650 but left it outside in a box (prat) which filled with water and killed the electrics. sadly. Not that I ever used it so I didn't miss it. Previous neighbour left behind a Jewish generator IG 1000 I think it is but it appears to be a pile of shite.

I just went to try starting my kipor ig2600, it started first time. The other day it wouldn't start at all, so we'll see how it fares this winter. F it proves to be unreliable then it's going and I'll stick to the little bit noiser ex1000 that starts first time every time so far.

Normally my ig2000 starts first pull if its been used recently, second pull if it hasn't been used for a few weeks. If it is well below freezing sometimes it takes a third pull, or ditto if I've run it out of fuel. Which personally I think comes into the category of good starting!

Yes this one has been doing something similar, but the other day it wouldn't start for love nor money. Then today it started first pull, in my book this is unreliability. The ex1000 which is much older starts first time every time. As I say time will tell.

If the difference is only starting first pull vs starting third pull on occasion, I don't think double the cost is worth it! But as we have been saying, it mostly depends on the longevity.

Completely agree about longevity, the kipors build quality doesn't fill me full of confidence that it will last long term. But as I say I haven't compared it to the modern Honda eu's which are probably of a similar build quality I would imagine. Ps. The Honda cost me £80 and the kipor £300 so your cost analysis doesn't work in my case.
