Hello all, I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get one of these from or the make/ model as the led is gone so cant read what it is saying. It is the control panel for the calorifier. Or if your by Sawley marina I am in there and you could have a look at it yourself, just brought a narrowboat from them so am trying to get a lot sorted, Thanks Rob.

Iβve never know a calorifier have a control panel. What does it control? Photo definitely required!

This could turn into a weird guessing game. Could Rob mean inverter or charger control panel? Joe

Iβve never know a have a control panel. What does it control? Photo definitely required! Our one has an immersion element so you can heat the water with 240v electricity as well as the water heated by the engine. That only needs an on/off mains type switch though.

I wonder if someone has fitted some sort of solenoid valve arrangement to switch between engine heated water and back boiler or something. With an indicator lamp to show once its up to temperature.
Sounds a bit DIY to me.
Eta I met a bloke years ago who heated his lived on off grid boat solely with the engine. He had heat stores and radiators which cooled the engine and exchanged the heat into the cabin.
If you wanted to run your rads off the engine it would make sense to have some sort of control panel .

Thatβs quite a good idea. We have a 240v generator which runs off a pulley belt system from the engine flywheel. So we can heat up domestic water quicker than just using the heat exchange coil from the engine cooling system. The heating system on ours is not connected to the domestic system though. We just have a back boiler on the Morso stove which heats up water passing through a gravity fed system (i.e two thick copper pipes, in and out feeding a radiator in the bedroom area). Very simple system.
