I was writing my answer to your previous message, and so missed the next one. Too bad it's not the same boat, as that would have been an even better find. Never mind, life go's on anyway. Peter. I edited my post as I had another look at it and the boat in your link does have the hawse hole in exactly the same place as this one. I reckon there is a fair chance its the same boat.

Hallelujah ! that would (almost) be too good to be true. Peter.

its awkward to tell if its the same boat. Some fine detail would be needed like did it have this wood carving by one of the windows. This bit of wood with perspex was lying beside the wreck Might be an indication for anyone looking. There are a lot of similarities with the picture on the link you put up and it makes sense that a boat which disappeared may have been wrecked but it could also be another boat. If you know anyone who could provide any unique clues I can have another look. Eta I would expect the rudder to be original so that could be an identifier

I don't think that this is the "Johanna" now, as on the photos she was converted for this judge guy with a center cockpit and a missen mast.
There's of course always a possibility that these where removed again at a later stage for another owner, who wanted the boat to look more original.
In the story of the link to the Botter "Johanna" the woman writes that they'd sold the boat around 1990, so what has happend in these 18 years is anyones guess.
Peter.

I find this rather upsetting too Eta 28 years is quite a while in the life of a boat. Looking at the wreck I wreckon it has been used within the last 5-8 years.

This mistake in the years between then and now was only to check if you were paying attention . As I've sad before :"Time flies, even when you're not having fun" Peter.

I think that wreck is the result of a storm surge. It was well above the normal high tide mark. I reckon it got washed too far up the side and became stuck - impossible to get back into the water then it started to break up. I bet that's what happened.

Is it the vessel in the SE corner of Broadness harbour? Google maps sattelite view has something that looks like her although the resolution isnt that good when you zoom in. If so there may be another glimse of her in Guy Robinsons photo (in google maps) in the centre background - a small part of the port side cabin with a porthole and the mast laid back on top?

Yes its that boat. Google sat view is fairly recent in that area (last few months) but I think the boat has been there for a few years.

Hopefully you can find out if she is the Johana, and if not what she was called, is it possible that an identification number is carved into a main beam somewhere as is typically done in commercial vessels?

As I wrote earlier on, I don't believe that this is the "Johanna", because in the article they wrote about her in the link I posted, she had a centre cockpit and a mizzen mast, which is not the case on this poor wreck. Peter.

A bit of Google searching turns up a Botteryacht called "Trui" I wonder if its that one. From the pinterest photos I get the impression someone was pleased with themselves about the boat but perhaps did not quite realise the maintenance requirements.
I suppose there are loads of these boats so it could be anything except it looks to be a boat which was never painted ie it was varnished or oiled instead. That could narrow down the options as some of them were painted.
