Well tomorrow is finally about to happen...
Help is at hand and the weather is set fair. All oil levels checked and 110 litres of diesel pumped aboard.
Most importantly the new holding tank has been topped up
Just a short run of 12 miles (trying to forget about the 27 locks...), 7 am start, the mutt isn't going to be impressed about loosing her beauty sleep!
Thank you to all who have helped me get this far.

Enjoy it, and try not to stress about everything. It'll be brilliant, and a day you'll look back on forever. It's quite an occasion ... and I know you'll rise to it Rog

Just a short run of 12 miles (trying to forget about the 27 locks...) On occasion, one meets a very friendly and helpful boater at locks.

7 am start:- You should be at the Brit by about 10:30 - they are open mind..... You should get into town easily by about midday. Morrisonβs cafe did an ok all day breakfast, moor by the yellow and green Wathen Wigg bridge, turn right and you are at Morrisonβs. If you want a brew before the flight walk to south bridge, turn right, walk along bridge street towards town with Carlsberg to your left. Malt shovel tavern before the traffic lights is the last place to get a beer for a good while. After that youβve the not many miles and too many locks up the arm Have a good un π»πΎπ

What is the stoppage situation ? Not Great from next week. Earls Barton effectively closed till March. teamup.com/ks42748cc81f4df974/events/221874443Next 8 weeks worth. teamup.com/ks42748cc81f4df974So @newboater is heading the right way ππ’π» We had a chap come and enquire about joining our club, he's at Northampton at the moment having travelled up off the Stort. He wont have his application considered and approved for at least 6 weeks. Let alone a mooring allocated. Puts him smack bang in the middle of the Earls Barton stoppage with only a very narrow window to get down river around Christmas and new year, by which time high likelihood of being on flood anyway. He left armed with White Mills and Billing marina contact details so he can stay tucked up over the next few months.
