OK. Its just I (well my mother actually) had a small hurth box seize up due to atf loss and I was able to loosen off the clutch pack by wobbling one of the output flange bolts back and forth. Someone else I met had the same problem and ended up being done for £600 and a new gearbox.
I think the prm 150 previously prm delta is an oil box not atf. Not sure though.
The reason for the loss of atf from the gearbox was because the dipstick was refitted without the copper washer it vibrated loose popped out and the atf ended up being sprayed out of the hole.
In that situation it stopped the engine as if there had been something on the prop (there wasn't).
In AI's case I'd say Morse cable disconnected or broken.

The little Hurths do suffer with the clutches. They work like an LSD and have a ball and ramp that drives the clutch together I had to overhaul one that was supplied to me in a sorry state - i wont embarrass mouse by mentioning him in this sentence marinetransmissions.info/uploads/HBW_internal.JPG

You got off lightly, then. Gazza's picture of a gearbox should be removed - diagrams like that are frightening.
Oh, yes, almost forgot to add: how old are the gear cables? If you say "Don't know" then I will send a stony stare your way.
Gear cables should be changed once a year.
