Yes I saw what you did, I'm swearing enough in another thread so I think I will refrain in this one. I still think it's a question of aesthetics, people don't seem to like the look of fenders.

Well I've got no problem with the aesthetics (you should see my boat). It's just that we got jammed in a lock with another boat which was using fenders in a tight lock.

I bought a gardening tool for digging moss from between paving stones. It has a hook with the curved edge sharp. Good for weed hatch errands. I painted our weed hatch unit and surrounding walls a couple of weeks ago, nice and clean. I pop down straight away if anything suspect. Stuff round the prop stops our engine from running at top speed. At top speed I can hear a whistling sound, like the turbo of an Intercity 125 Valenta engine. My son thinks our weed hatch is where we keep our 'stash'. Isn't it ? Phil

I find rubbing strakes stop rubbing streaks. When I had the Dawncraft yoghurt pot I had it well fendered, kept them down all the time, except on our rare trips to narrow canals. I lost and found many over the years, bought a few too.

I would suggest you don't ignore it if it's the flat metal or plastic package strapping can cause damage to the prop/& or shaft if 1 end gets caught the rest wrapped around the shaft tightens & could possibly cut into the shaft Does the upper/lower mounts for the rudder have wear/play? & have you "clobbered" the rudder blade?making it rest in a different position? Does it do in all rudder positions ? straight ahead & with "lock" on It's a bit of suck it & see unless there is an obvious cause. Get geared up the water will be cold.

Have you tried dangling some of the boxes of stewing shite stored in your 'Stateroom' in place of traditional fenders/tyres? If they got hung up they would simply collapse depositing the enclosed festering slurry in the cut and saving you the job of dumping them under a hedge after dark. How would you feel about them aesthetically?

The "whistle" of the Paxman with a crack in the turbo ducting? whilst on the subject of railways a "pigs tail" shunters coupling pole for the old 3 link couplings ( if they are still available ) make super prop "decrappers"if you sharpen the inner part of the tail to a sharp edge to cut/ saw off the debris from around the prop/shaft.

Tomsk you only seem to post on this forum at weekends looking for an argument. Are you only allowed alcohol/ Internet access at the weekends? You need to talk with your therapist about your obsession with other people's toilet habits.

Tomsk you only seem to post on this forum at weekends looking for an argument. Are you only allowed alcohol/ Internet access at the weekends? You need to talk with your therapist about your obsession with other people's toilet habits. Like most people I work during the week, though I do occasionally post in the evening as any cursory research would show, so another factually incorrect assertion by yourself to chalk up. Also I have no restrictions placed on myself with regard to alcohol/internet access, I enjoy unfettered access to both. As previously stated I have neither a Therapist nor what I would term an obsession with others turding practices, though I am keen to hear how your frankly bizarre experiment in shit-banking is progressing. Please update as promised.
