The apology struck a chord exactly because it was mjg. I saw no reason why he had to proffer one in those circumstances, and didn't see any benefit for him other than an acknowledgement that he was wrong back then. Credit where due ... but perhaps I am less cynical than you Rog

The apology struck a chord exactly because it was mjg. I saw no reason why he had to proffer one in those circumstances, and didn't see any benefit for him other than an acknowledgement that he was wrong back then. People get old, and sometimes regret their past actions. Once in a while I think if I had my current knowledge and the chance to go back in time to correct mistakes, what would I do about them? There are a few times where, now, I think I would like to have made a different decision then, or to have put in some more time and effort. Of course the 'Butterfly Effect' (Asimov?) could mean that if I had chosen a different course of action, then my future would be altered and I would not be here now with the years since that event intact. If you could leave the present unchanged and go back to 'tweak' some things, I would. Then there are the many decisions I've made that, looking back, were indeed very astute. When you get old and your death bed approaches, you should think about what, laying on it, you would regret. So that you can get a move on and get some things done before it's too late. "I enjoy giving out calendars at Christmas. As I hand it over I remind them that every day that they cross off is another day nearer to โthe cold, hard, lonely grave.โโฆthat normally wipes the festive smile off their faces!"

I've made shed loads of errors and mistakes in my life but I don't regret anything and would not change anything even if I had a time machine. I firmly believe that regretting things leads to negative outcomes. So I don't.

As applies to all of us here, he'll be judged by the words he posts. That's the best bit of thunderboat in my view. I think most of us have had a bit of a 'kicking' here at some time and on different threads. Of course Telemachus and stabby deserve it Twat.

I agree. He has certainly been giving the mods and the system some stick. We could do with plumbing advice at times too. Plumbing is easy. Shit goes downhill and water finds itโs own level. the other thing to remember:- You never see a happy plumber- no small wonder when you consider they spend half their day up to their elbows in sewage. S... does not always go downhill...it has been known to erupt forcing a cover off a septic tank due to mismanagement of the system..not by me ..but my predecessors at Horror House...Effluent covered part of the lawn...and no wasn't the plumbers who had that clean up to do.... Ah ...memories... Of course I sorted it and had all repaired and replaced and then s... did indeed drain where it oughta

No problem. This topic - www.ybw.com/forums/showthread.php?383542-Liveaboards-being-evicted-in-UK&highlight=nigelmoore - saw my entry into that Forum (page 27, #258), having come aross references to my own case with BW/CaRT, containing the usual misunderstandings. Now over 2 years since I last logged in; have occasionally wanted to, but couldn't find the password and it was too much bother to go searching or retry. It is still a worthwhile site though.

My issue not with him..he's always been very nice when I've posted over there... It's the other I wouldn't welcome back...its been lot calmer since he jumped ship Given his behaviour with Ricco, who I thought was posting in a more or less restrained and well argued manner, despite me disagreeing with the drivel quitter content he was posting, Martin has burnt his bridges and would really get some stick here. I do accept that I'm out of sync with most, who like to have massive systems set up by governments to look after every individual's need. I personally would have no government, other than for the essentials of infrastructure, law and order, education, we can argue about health etc. Welfare has no place in the remit of government business, in my opinion. People can bang on that I'm a cunt all day long, I don't care, but this is a cunt who didn't think twice before risking his own life to save a girl who was drowning in a rip in a big sea off Bali (I'm middle aged myself) and wouldn't think twice about doing it again. It's called humanity, you either have it or you don't. Subscribing to socialism might make people feel good, make them feel like they have humanity but my money is on most of them being cowards, underneath.

Here's me on the River Stour in Suffolk in 1982. I went with a friend and we paddled from Sudbury to Bures. This was one of the dinghies I used when I went by myself from Llandrindod Wells to Builth Wells in 1981, about 8 miles down the rivers Ithon and Wye. My rucksack/camping gear were in the dinghy I was towing. Fantastic fun. Bit dangerous though.

Well some of you lot really really do need to get out more.
Me on mod queue? On a final warning? Really?
Would I have been so ready to criticise moderating decisions about Roger and others if I had been, would they have approved it if I was on mod queue? Answer no they wouldn't.
The facts are that I have one current warning point gained after the spat with Ricco.
Oh Jim I note your rejection of my apology both on here and by the rather silly 'ha ha' emoji you posted on it on cwdf, - no problem matey.
Bat on folks.
(Oh and do I look in here once in a while? of course I do)

Of course Telemachus and stabby deserve it Rog ETA ย I was impressed by mjg's apology, as it was offered with no pressure to do so. Good for Martin. I on the other hand thought it was Martin playing to the crowd - a leopard canโt change his spots. This is the same bloke that is trying to make out he was only defending himself on here, my recollection is different, Martin seemed to thrive on antagonising people on here, occasions I remember well were his spats with Tomsk and Paul, nearly always starred by Martin. Still, seeing as most on cwdf also lurk here Iโm sure they can make their own minds up as to whether Martin is being a two faced toadying wanker or just a little bit forgetful ๐๐คญ I seem to remember(correct me if I'm wrong) that his language wasn't very pleasant in some of his posts.๐ฎ
