Do maggots live on wood? I thought they were more of a dead animal type creature. Dry rot.

As for moderation is it possible that a few algorithms (clever word whatever it means) are installed which sense if a post may be inappropriate and automatically put the poster on mod approval.
So for example if you posted "cock" and it was not a poultry thread you might get locked up. Temporarily.

Actually, the moment's passed.
I'll just stay here where I'm more at home anyway.
We sometimes agree, sometimes squabble, but I at least know that everyone feels free here to express themselves without any interference or third party controls.
Got to be healthier overall hasn't it?
Rog

When the mods decide to clean up a thread, especially if it is a "fast and furious" one, it is easiest to lock and hide the thread, make the edits, then release the thread back into the wild. Otherwise one risks clashing with new posts and people editing the previous posts. I don't think it is particularly sinister. Well, sorry, but I think it's sinister. What next, ammended posts to better 'fit in'. You're the one regularly protesting at 'group think'. Rog I am, but I think locking and hiding a thread whilst editing is in progress is the only way to do it. Whether the original desire to edit other people's stuff was justified is another matter, but sometimes it is. And sometimes it isn't.

No thanks, but what I'd like to know is exactly how many gin and tonics did it take to "convert" stabby? No gin and tonics were harmed in the process. However I did find a 50:50 mix of Mucky Duck’s finest ale and Rohypnol did the trick
