Now that would be funny Martin come crawling back here dragging the plumber behind him. Err no... I can imagine them getting short shrift here.

He seems OK to me (MtB I mean). It's a wonder he hasn't already leapt ship. It's not so dangerous here, and you can read Carnalworld for free (as he apparently does now anyway!). Am I right in thinking there are only two canal/inland waterways discussion forums in the entire United Kingdom - Carnalworld and Thunderboat? I don't know of any others worth the name. Why doesn't NBTA have a discussion forum?

I think he drops in here regularly, just doesn't post. With a couple of exceptions people on here like to get on with each other. Martin prefers to fall out with people, that's what he enjoys, this isn't really the place for that. Ironic really, given that one place is moderated, the other not.

I reckon mtb would fit well here, if he can cope with the inevitable teasing for a while... give the guy a chance to improve prove himself. I agree. He has certainly been giving the mods and the system some stick. We could do with plumbing advice at times too.

He must be really frustrated, probably on a final warning, so having to bite his tongue. giggle!

My issue not with him..he's always been very nice when I've posted over there... It's the other I wouldn't welcome back...its been lot calmer since he jumped ship

Yachting and Boating Forum has a section on Thames and inland waterways. I have misplaced my log-in details, but it has some trenchant discussions on relevant topics. www.ybw.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?66-The-Thames-Forum The clientele is far wider spread, with a lot of international contributors. The BBC item on Alistair's barges is a recent topic, though they do not appear to have caught up with the DEFRA group news. www.ybw.com/forums/showthread.php?506491-Slum-city-BBC-news

As applies to all of us here, he'll be judged by the words he posts. That's the best bit of thunderboat in my view. I think most of us have had a bit of a 'kicking' here at some time and on different threads. Of course Telemachus and stabby deserve it Rog ETA I was impressed by mjg's apology, as it was offered with no pressure to do so. Good for Martin.

Shit goes downhill and water finds itβs own level. the other thing to remember:- You never see a happy plumber- no small wonder when you consider they spend half their day up to their elbows in sewage.

I think that's why MTB only does boilers. No shit. You must have changed the dwarf (for a better one?) a few times, just deal with it. I've had a couple of serious shit jobs in my time, just have to get on with it.

I on the other hand thought it was Martin playing to the crowd - a leopard canβt change his spots. This is the same bloke that is trying to make out he was only defending himself on here, my recollection is different, Martin seemed to thrive on antagonising people on here, occasions I remember well were his spats with Tomsk and Paul, nearly always starred by Martin. Still, seeing as most on cwdf also lurk here Iβm sure they can make their own minds up as to whether Martin is being a two faced toadying wanker or just a little bit forgetful ππ€

Please Teach, can I come off the norty step, I have been nice to someone! A true psychophant. I have raised the issue with him before on here and he didn't grovel an apology then. So definitely for effect. One of my newbie early posts on there was jumped on by Doghouse in true analworld style, though I don't recall the content his behavior stuck in my mind.
