Came across one today, looked well blocked and probably for some time, top end of plumbers rod sticking out.
A couple of questions;
Does anyone report this to CRT? D CRT notify boaters (if so how) if they know about it?

Maybe you could report it to CRT? As far as I'm aware, problems with sanitary stations aren't routinely reported to boaters. If I have problems emptying the cassette because of defective sanitary stations, what I normally do is cruise around until I find TellyMackus's boat and then empty it down his chimney.

There's no reason why you can't empty your Elsan/Thetford cassette loo down any normal toilet. Take a couple of 5 litre drinking water bottles (you know, the ones from supermarkets) and use those to rinse - in fact the rinsing process is a damned sight quicker than from CRT's pathetic slow-running-no-pressure taps which have had the rubber tubes removed to make it even more awkward for you.

Most of C&RT's properties are bunged up full with turds of some sort, . . . from canalside bog emptying facilities to their offices in Milton Keynes and elsewhere.

I suppose no one gives a shit. Will report it tomorrow by which time I'll be carrying around 2 cartons of shite under the bed - may as well install a pump out....

Then how did it become blocked? Will report it tomorrow by which time I'll be carrying around 2 cartons of shite under the bed - may as well install a pump out.... Nearest hedge? Be careful Mr Andyberg isn't sleeping it off there, though! Anyway, why did you leave it so late?

Maybe you could suggest to CRT that they should add sanitary station problems to their stoppages notification list? It has to be said though, that sanitary stations only ever become blocked because boaters have emptied unsuitable items into them, and there are signs at every sanitary station requesting that boaters do not do this. If boaters choose to ignore these signs and choose to empty items into sanitary stations which are beyond their ability to process them then that is hardly CRT's fault.

Somethink tells me the plumbers rod didn't come out of a cassette! No problem with it being blocked (shit happens) but why don't CRT inform people (if they know about it)? Shoddy wellbeing!

They do, on the notifications if you're signed up for them.
C&RT deserve a good kicking regularly, but in fairness it's not them that block elsans, and if no one reports the problem, how can they arrange to sort it.
I truly have no idea how, in normal use anyone can block an elsan. It's a gift!

It happened in our marina a while ago, somebody had obviously been doing a thorough job cleaning their cassette and blocked the Elsan with J cloths, how stupid are they. Phil

No answer as to whether they notify boaters about this one (it's shown on the CRT maps).
Thank you for getting in touch. The elsan in the corner of the pub carpark is the responsibly of the pub management and not the trusts to maintain.

"carpark" - one word?
"responsibly" - pissed before lunchtime?
"trusts" - small t.
Broken Britain.
