We bought some solar panels at the start of summer and fitted everything ourselves to try and save a bit of lolly.
They seem to be working great (the concept still feels like some sort of electrical voodoo is in play) and ta amps continue to pour in even at this time of year (maybe because they are cooler?).
Anyway, was just wondering what other fellow sun harvesters are currently experiencing?
We have just got a cheap Chinese controller and panels - 3 rated at 150w each. Not that I 'screen watch' much now (ahem) but when we have direct sun, they seem to produce around 250w.
Our mooring is ideal in terms of orientation and no shading. I think if we angled them more to the sun we would probably get a bit more (can only do this though when we turn the boat around due to the boiler flu!).
Would be really Interested to hear from others - as I said, I'm a bit of a novice with renewables but would like to learn more - POWER FROM THE PEOPLE!!!

3 x 125w here. The most I've ever seen from them is 250w.
Right now the most I'm getting is around 25w in direct sunlight, panels flat to the roof. Interestingly this shoots up to around 45w if the sunlight is mottled by the likes of thin tree branches.

Sun has just come out here, the panels are clean from 18 hours of heavy rain so I will getting 25 amps are so coming in [very large solar array]

That's encouraging then that I'm seeing about the same as ricco at peak time (50% of the rated wattage).
I think we only got about 14Ah today (0.17KWh) - still free though eh?
How big is 'big' Peter?

BIG - I can vouch it covers most of the Northern hemisphere ;-) ...
