I'm happy to carry on but jenlyn has some sort of inability to accept other peoples opinions. Nothing to do with beer as far as I'm concerned.
I did thing kris' misspellings were quite funny as it did look like he might be hammered.
Eta I see its been corrected now so I'll delete my quote.

It seems you have little, or no life outside of this forum.

Its actually quite a funny situation because one part says "do not engage" the other part says "try to counter the negative engagement" the other part says "CBA".
All a bit odd really !

I'm far from perfect but have tried to get by without causing issues for other people, sometimes/often that hasn't been pretty and has involved getting people to accept that a 'normal' way of living isn't always possible and if they give a bit more 'space' and help without being judgemental or telling people 'this is the way' then life can change.

You have a drink problem, I noticed at Leighton buzzard. You need to deal with it. Making out your ill, when in fact your just a piss head is something you yourself need to seek help for. By the way, your beef with me only seems to see you Express it on the internet from behind a screen. When I approached you in Leighton buzzard, you skulked off, almost knocking my partner off her bike in your haste to get away. What a prick.

Its not all about London freeloaders there are quite a lot of other places on the cut where there are unnatural numbers of residential boats concentrated in limited geographical areas. Its not a housing shortage it is because boats are too cheap to live on. Unless something is done to reduce the low cost appeal of living on a boat on towpath moorings then there is obviously going to be a bit of an unnatural bias particularly in areas with higher economic activity. Its not rocket science. Considering the fact that low cost and slightly stressful housing like living in a small boat originally designed for weekend camping is associated with other social problems in general I don't believe it should be the job of a navigation authority to deal with this. I suppose the extra license income is useful but at some point a fairly serious problem is going to arise. Usually when I read posts like this one, I wouuld ask what you suggest happens to those you refer to? Is it a sin to be poor financially? Is it a sin to want to live in a small space and enjoy a simple life? You are a twat Sir!

Is it a sin to want to live in a small space and enjoy a simple life? You are a twat Sir! I prefer a simple life living in a small space too What I am suggesting would have a negative impact on my quality of life personally. Maybe you don't realise that I am talking about the bigger picture. The answer to your question about what happens to people is that they would move to an area where they can afford to live. as I said if there were more residential moorings (I'd like to see a lot more in all areas on canals but sadly that won't happen because of the speed freaks) then obviously the costs would come down in less economically active areas and people would be able to claim assistance like people do in land based dwellings. Its a false argument to say what about people who can not afford to live. You are suggesting the canals are full of people who would otherwise be homeless. That is total bollocks and you know it. There are some in that position yes which is why I suggest local council management but they are a minority the majority are on boats for financial advantage. Some people are even happy to own property rent it to someone else and live on a boat while the going is good. No risk there. No long term interest in living on boats. Just parasites.
