I'd really love a faithful scale copy of Dulcinea with remote control. That would be seriously cool. Not good enough with my hands to make one but I would seriously consider commissioning a proper model maker to do it. I think it would be great. What make of boat is Dulcinea?

From wiki:
Steam was drawn from the boiler to the cylinder under the piston. When the piston reached the top of the cylinder, the steam inlet valve closed and the valve controlling the passage to the condenser opened. The condenser being at a lower pressure, drew the steam from the cylinder into the condenser where it cooled and condensed from water vapor to liquid water, maintaining a partial vacuum in the condenser that was communicated to the space of the cylinder by the connecting passage. External atmospheric pressure then pushed the piston down the cylinder.
The separation of the cylinder and condenser eliminated the loss of heat that occurred when steam was condensed in the working cylinder of a Newcomen engine. This gave the Watt engine greater efficiency than the Newcomen engine, reducing the amount of coal consumed while doing the same amount of work as a Newcomen engine.

It's a one-off home build trawler style cruiser. Very detailed and complicated to make a model of. This item: 30ft x 10ft6 some people think it's a bit bigger than that.

That is a nice looking boat.👍🏻 I was robbed of it ....... I was looking at it and admiring it at a boatyard at Fosdyke ...... nobody told me it was for sale.
Next thing I know Mr Jammy buys the bloody thing ....... and what's more had it transported BY ROAD !!!
...... a boat like that being transported by ROAD !!! He really didn't deserve it

4 years it was on the bank.
Funny history to the boat in that Ted never wanted to sell it then finally the lad I bought it off managed to get it off him then the lad I bought it off never wanted to sell it, had it out of water for ages then it turned up on the Appalling Duck.
It's actually an incredibly well sorted boat for the Thames. I was slightly pleasantly surprised by how good it is inland.
It's slow though. I think you want a faster one than this which can hit 6 knots but no more.
In terms of internal design it is the best laid out craft I have ever seen. Always a fan of small spaces due to having lived in stupidly large houses as a child it is something I have wanted for a long time.
A lovely boat to be aboard and once I clear the other ones it will be my only boat (and the dinghy) and my home for the rest of my life.
It's karma.

You realy were very lucky ...... as you say , for me, the only box it didn't fully tick was on the speed ....... not that Siesta (the one I still have my eye on .... if they ever finish it) isn't a nice boat and will probably be able to cruise at 6+ but Dulcinea is just a sweet design and very much a one off

As far as I'm concerned it was built for me as a custom motor cruiser when I was 11. I did tell someone this last summer and they took it literally.
But it was meant to be my boat, to be fair.
I think retiring to inland water is quite appropriate as it's not new by any means.
And the Thames is rather pleasant one has to admit.

Happy New Year t you all.
First trip out in 2022. The Thames was stunning yesterday.
Next month I will be moving the boat to a reservoir so I can get a bit more sailing done. I will miss this beautiful place but I can always come back to the marina and lock out on convenient tide and weather in the future.

what happened about commissioning a model?
I was otherwise engaged when this thread started, so I missed it.
I am an avid boat modelmaker and have several miniatures in build in the boatyard at present. I might be interested. Do you have any accurate plans of the hull?
