That is a very tidy looking boat. I used to love watching them racing on the Broads at Horning. Phil Cheers Phil, She still has original gel coat and there are a few patches and scratches that have been touched up. But in general she is good, just hope she floats .

A certain coiffured, blood stained, Hells Mopeder of this parish is a fan of that particular sunny colour. Looking forward to reports of how it handles under sail Rog

I'd be cautious about second hand Torqeedos. The early ones used small high rpm brushless motor coupled to a planetary gearbox to drop the speed to the propeller. They were marketed as "electric outboard to get your inflatable on the plane". Some may have been used hard and there is quite a lot of not incredibly durable gear in there.
Plus gearbox whine is very loud on them which partly defeats the object of electric drive.
The new ones are direct drive and quieter.
There is also the E-propulsion to consider. Basically the same as the new direct drive Torqeedo but a bit cheaper.
They turn up secondhand but don't know how good they are. Chinese product I think but then everything is these days isn't it.

Good info Magnetman. To be honest I will be very happy with a 4 stroke on the back.

Yes the 4 stroke outboards are okay but all of them are single cylinder up to 6hp. A bit rattly and annoying.
Something odd happened when small two stroke units were banned. Sudden rush to make 4 strokes, mainly Nissan (Mercury, Mariner and Tohatsu units) and the other established brands Honda and Suzuki.
Some rebranded Suzuki units called Evinrude and Johnson as well.
Honda is the clear leader but I really hate their air cooled 2hp/2.3hp units. Much too noisy.
If you can get an old Honda BF2 the ones they don't make anymore than that is a nice little outboard. Air cooled block but the exhaust is water cooled which removes the need for noisy exhaust outlets in the leg.
My favourite small outboard. Closely followed by the 2 smoke Yamaha Malta.

I have now added a Drascombe to the fleet. I think they look great.

Drascombes are great boats... I have done a bit of searching on them and you do not find many owners who don't like them. A very respected boat range. This is a Drascombe Cruiser and we think it is a 1979 build.
