I canβt stand it either, I have to sit down so there is less distance between the scone and my gob. Makes it quicker to shovel in. Anyway you can have scone as in gone, scone as in stone, or scone as in scoon (the place near Perth). Not sure which is best, Iβd better try all 3 and see which one tastes better.

It's scone as on stone, the rules of grammar dictate that the e at the end lengthens the o. End of discussion

Oh what nitpicking pedantic spelling fun we're having today. And it's only 9.45a.m. ... there's hours of daylight left to wile away in pursuing the unwary, unconcentrating speller. I'm so excited Rog While Sorry , not only pedantic but wrong too. Rog

Scone is pronounced "sconn"
When I read it I read "cone" with an s at the front but my brain immediately corrects it before I speak.

I almost put the wiki link to 'Think of the children' to dogless's remark about Shamima's REAL baby. Never mind about the children of those that have been beheaded, eh? But, behind all the squabbling is the insidious machinations of the politicians and regimes that are orchestrating this 'war'. You look to where the money is flowing (Swiss banks, who still hold gold pulled from Jews' teeth by the Nazis of Germany) and you'll see the truth. "Switzerland assisted the Nazis beyond what was necessary for a neutral country, and prolonged the war." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Jewish_Congress_lawsuit_against_Swiss_banksNo, sorry, still an arse. Especially as you follow me around this virtual world spouting your nonsense. Arse! Rog
