This is another step to get done for the launch so its a must do on the list along with the engine set up cables about to be ordered and plate the the outboard mount. Few things. It has M58 Ultraflex steering cable and as i was numb headed and didnt look after the cable it sezied but i managed to free it a bit, enough to steer it anyway. It will do as it also a good 2 foot longer than i need but will fit under the rear deck. You reckon if i lay it up the stairs, yes T is fine with it lol. And dam around the worm gear/helm end with putty and fill with air tool oil it will seep down and aid a bit more freedom ? Now anotther thing, i have a support tube clamp as in the pic, the top fitting in the pic. I have never used one of these. Is it as simple as screwing it to the transom and clamp the tube/cable into it ? And then through then tube goes through the side wall ( no witchs hat needed ? ) in this case the fuel well and then through the side wall of inner hull then to the helm ? Just trying to work out aswell how many witch`s hats to buy beside the twin for the engine cables. Captain Faffer

Yes, that is what i was looking at for a while but as i had this i was wondering if its any good. It came off the boet originally. For the clamp i was going to just a hole in the splashwell side. NN Dwarf

NN Dwarf Your high quality work means you ought to use the splashwell kit π If you can hide the transom clamp it would be ok, just need a nice grommet to pass the cable through then. As for the cable, it's rare for them to heal, try some PTFE lubricant like this. uk.rs-online.com/web/p/lubricants/7805335/You'll know if it's any good when it goes back together, should be very little resistance to turning through the helm, if it's at all stiff the cable is goosed

Still debating if to sort the piston rings or valves out yet. runs great though as you know. Just me being a faffer lol. I remember the cable was free running but now twice resistance. as said it will save me near Β£100 for a new one when things are tight at the minute until launch. Well time for my bed Thanks kida

Thought i would put this here as its part of the job. I am struggling to find the end ring terminal for the Morse control middle 8mm pin with circlip. It needs to attach to a 10/32 internal thread as standard on remotes for yammy etc. Anybody any idea where i can get one. I hav wthe rest here now but the one i got is wrong thread. cheers Captain Faffer.

You're after the outboard throttle and gear ends? Bear with me and I'll look see if I can find the part numbers. 6G8263630000 Yamaha but there should be a clip that holds it in place. I think I've a cable end for the Morse lever end at work too.

Hi Gazza. I have all the connections but for this one, in the link above it says it is a 10/32 thread but doenst fit the Y32 original cables for some reason, ahng while typing maybe the plastic is stopping the thread get hold. Your a good un kida, doing my head in this its always the smallest bit that cocks me up. And no rush for it DO YOU AGREE THAT THE THREADED CONNeCTIONS OF THE 33C CABLES ARE 10/32 AS In THE LINKS ABOVE , sorry not shouting hit caps lol I chamfered the plastic back on the connector i got but the thread is wrong.

Standard 33c cable is 3/16 UNF (10/32) may be an idea to run an M5 nut down your cable to see of that goes on - if so I can helicoil the cable end M5 for you, jobs a good un etc π¨π¨π¨π As for the clip i'll see what we have and Chuck a handful of something in, I can roughly work it out from the cable end inner shaft diameter anyway. A circlip would do the job too.
