I don't care why it's called Thunderboat, it's not full of people that know everything about everything yet still offers plenty of knowledge when it's needed, even to hire boaters like me, oh, and I can call folk a twat when I think they are being one. I don't think I've quite yet called anyone the t word.... It's not obligatory patty, nice to have the option though.

I'm just shocked that someone would admit to being a hire boater.
I guess the fact that people can express deeply offfensive or unpalatable things on here comes out in all sorts of ways. Like a confessional.
Its a victory for the forum. I think its great that nobody is judgmental.
I once shot a robin with an air rifle from about 6 inches away. There we go I've done my confession..

So do I.
You need about 7 for a decent stew though.
I've felt awful about this ever since it happened after I was given an air rifle by one of my cousin's husband when I was 10.
Sadly she (my cousin) killed herself when she was 50 not because of the robin and her husband was jailed for fraud as he was doing too much money laundering and putting all the stuff in her name.
And I still have the rifle.
But I really like robins as birds. Its very sad to think I did this but we all do things we then regret later. I was a mixed up muddled up shook up kid. Some things don't change.

Am I the only one here who used to burn ants with a magnifying glass? They would crackle and go up in a small puff of smoke. You can have fun in school too, giving your classmates a silent surprise with that pinpoint of sunlight on their arm.

I and my neighbours used to have a 'pet' robin. He/she would always tap on the door whenever it wanted feeding. Would come into the house at every opportunity, and get into the car whenever you opened the door. I even took Robin shopping to Sainsbury's numerous times, but always left him/her in the car when doing the actual shopping. The Mutt hated him/her.
One day I went out to the car to get something and wasn't paying attention, 5 days later when I went to use the car - dead robin on the passenger seat! RIP little fella...

We had one that used to come into the kitchen at work and wait to be fed.
Their sociability is the reason 'folk tales' have it that the souls of deceased loved ones return as robins.
Lovely birds despite their territoriality.
