If there Pie charts are t be believed they earned £8.5 million from bwml last year, so why the fuck would you sell them for 3.5 times the annual income?

Can't see their one million pounds worth of luncheon vouchers listed, or the 2.8 million on car cash. Personal expenses seem to be missing as well lol.

I've tried making sense of carts accounting before, about as clear as mud. But I expect it's as transparent as they want it.

Will they still be renting them the water? bet they are. To be honest they are better off building and renting out an industrial estate from those proceeds, I am sure they will be a lot less trouble than a bunch od whinging boaters....................................

I just know what carts managment are like, they would have been better sticking to their core bussines. There are plenty of empty industrial units, where as the boaters are a captive market.

I can't help thinking that it's the beginning of privatising all of carts moorings.

Yes, maybe they've not worked that out?

I see where your coming from kris, I also wonder what the operating costs were of the marinas.
But with the industrial units they will make the tenant look after the buildings so CRT will have no financial issues when they are let.
I see they made 50 million from investment and property income.
Still seems shortsighted to sell the marinas. They should of just rented them out to a commercial operator

It's not just the 27million from the marinas they are investing but the 100million they borrowed from the money markets so let's hope they make money or else the waterways are up the creek without a paddle.

To be honest, none of the rates quoted on the pie chart seem particularly out-of-kilter with commercial rates charged for work in the motor transport industry. I believe the grass and hedgerows are trimmed around six times a year opposite my mooring, rather than the twice you mentioned. The only mystery is why they pay £850 a day to rescue fish when there is a Thunderboat member prepared to murder them for free.
