Ali would like a roof box. She wants to put a couple of folding chairs. table and bits in it. Any suggestions to where they can be brought? Might it be best to make one myself? Just four planks and a base and hinged lid I guess. Would it need fixing down? Any tips gratefully received.

Have a look on eBay if you don't mind secondhand.
I got a Thule Pacific roofbox and bars from Halfords - quality kit that is easy to fit and remove as they use a claw clamp to attach the roofbox to the bar rather than u bolts. Not cheap though 🙈
Might not apply so much fitting one to a boat as once on you are unlikely to want to remove it!

You could attach it to two pieces of 40mm box clamped to your handrails with a girder clamps.
Either that or screw it to some scaff plank's cut to fit the width of the roof. You don't want it loose on the roof tbh.

ours is made of decking. Curved to match the roof profile, it's not secured but wasent blown away yet.
We brought an absolute beast of a roof box, probaly on Ebay or some classified add. Paid a tenner for it. Better for security i suppose.
