Walked to the Greyhound at Aldbury.
There's something rather amazing, on a hot sunny afternoon, about drinking ice cold beer at a time much of the world is still at work.
Cheers πΊπΊ

There are some really good walks from Aldbury, up on to the Ashridge Estate - not for this sort of weather though...

The floating electric beer drinking platform still works. I was not moaning. When I put the speed controller on the side there I just bolted it to a folded aluminium plate. Obviously due to the lack of fins it gets hot. Accidental discovery was that a piece of

Hopefully not so warm today (34 degrees yesterday afternoon) but still blue sky and sunshine to start βοΈ
We're going to visit Aylesbury and have to pop home for Jane's brother's 70th birthday soon.
Aylesbury Canal Society still offer 7 days free mooring if on board, and 14 days if locked and left, which is an excellent service to boaters ... I'm sure well worthy of a donation ππ»
First time we've hired a car since covid ... it'll make a change.
I'm currently reading a novel based in Manchester during the time that the area was put back into 'lock-down' a second time in 2020.
How very strange and bizarre it all seems yet memorable ... like the memory of a very bad dream.

Better day today.
Idiots on a jet ski yesterday at Windsor I narrowly avoided being flooded. It was a hot day so a bit of water would not have been harmful but still no good.
3 little scrotes. Need shooting.
Thats the problem with having a public slipway.
Thankfully the weather for the weekend looks reasonably shit.

Not reached there yet, but just saw the stoppage on CWDF ... doesn't sound too serious ... paddle and spindle disconnected π€π€
We've loads of time.

Sat waiting for B&W Fuels as I need diesel and gas.
Noticed on their Web page there's a GPS button which actually indicates their location in real time.
What a great idea π‘

Great service from B&W Fuels ... recommend their service if you're between Bulbourne and Cowley on the GU.
They were delayed arriving with us because they turned back to respond to a customer's cry for help that he'd missed them back at Bulbourne and he was desperate.

Another week at work over. Last day of the month too so it was payday. It's been a busy month at Slam Transport and I ended up doing 21 hours of overtime over the month so quite a good payday which helps the savings.
Going to try to fit the side stand to the Vespa at the weekend and put the panels back on. Hopefully weather will be kind enough to ride to work for at least a few days next week.
Rather annoyingly Rose Narrowboats won't let boaters use their Elsan point any more so will have to do a dedicated trip to Hawkesbury in the car.

What's happened at Rose to prompt that Mr Stabby do you know ? That's a blow. I'd be happy to pay a couple of quid if necessary, but that leaves nothing between Rugby and Hawksbury. Maybe Brinklow marina ? Rog

What's happened at Rose to prompt that Mr Stabby do you know ? I think they've been planning it a while, over the Winter they built a stainless steel superstructure over the drain cover, and this had a fitting for a padlock, last week a combination lock appeared. The cleaning staff readying the boats would not give Adam, one of the moorers at the farm, the combination. He told me though that somebody had recently (don't know how recently) emptied a load of used engine oil into it, so probably that.
