Shopping stop in Nantwich. I had forgotten what a pleasant town it is. Apparently the greatest concentration of listed buildings and one can see why. Seems prosperous and wealthy, not quite sure why. Possibly because there's an M&S and coincidentally I happen to own a canalside apartment there?!? Oh - and you did wave back and give me a watery hello when I was out walking the dog later. Jeff was too engrossed in his book to speak and I was shocked to see you at the helm. Enjoy Audlem x

Jeff canβt drive the boat at the moment due to his broken ribs. Telemachus has a fairly heavy rudder. I have had to drive the boat from Fazeley via Caldon times 2, Macc to Congleton and now round to Audlem. 7 weeks now since his crash - today was the first time he had a go at winding paddles. Hack green, and then Audlem bottom lock. But slowly getting better.

What - no M&S? If only you'd said, dog and I were moored just beyond Hack Green and would happily have worked you up.

Here's the rear. Obviously it's not pretty but these legshields are made of Unobtanium. I saw a used one on sale on ebay for Β£160 last week and I'm not paying that. The rear is going to be stickerbombed too and I think this repair will be all but invisible. Still waiting for the V5C to arrive at the bogus Kent address, hopefully will have it in around three weeks. Most things seem to take three weeks.

Looks effective and will no doubt look 'invisibly mended' when finished ... well look fine anyway π
Do we get footage of a ride up the track by Charlie ?

Here's the legshield as was when I got the bike. I think this would fail an MOT test on "sharp edges" I could probably present it for MOT without the legshield but it needs doing to make the Scoopy look complete. The problem with plastics on these older Hondas is that they become brittle due to UV light exposure.

It's certainly going to look better than in that photo ππ»
How's it compare in weight to the 'yellow peril' ?

UV is terrible.
I use anti-UV products quite a lot.
I would go so far as to say that when humans discovered UV the general status of the world and the possibilities of endless pleasure were significantly degraded.
UV. You have to live with it but its never going to be good.

It won't replace Clockwork Banana as the boat bike or the Vespa as the commuter bike, it's mostly for Charlie to ride when he's up (although I will get it insured for myself to ride using my fake, false and bogus address in Kent).

Anyway.
Someone coming to aee Dulcinea tomorrow.
Because of my 'issues' I might be looking at a cruise down to the Maunsell forts and a spot of light scuttling followed by extraction by my air support unit.
Either that or I give it to the bloke. In a very real way.
I would quite like some money but in general (other than the Β£369k cash legacy) I have a floccinaucinihilipilification of money. OMG what a luxury to have in life. I am mildly embarassed. embarrased. embarrassed.
And I also know that Latin does not have a native soft c so no it is not flocksi nausi it is flocky nocky. Some of ys know how Latin was actually spoken.
Knock knock. who's there. go fuck yourself.
Anyway.
Have a good 'un.

It is necessary, as a matter of some urgency, to trace and contact the recent buyer of a boat named 'March Hare' (C&RT Index No 68691). Until last week the boat was held in storage on farmland at Dodleston, near Chester. The farmland is owned by the Proprietor and Managing Director, Brian Clarke, of a company trading as Commercial Boat Services.
Commercial Boat Services were instructed by the Canal & River Trust, subject to its powers under Section 8 of the British Waterways Act 1983, to remove 'March Hare' from the Kennet & Avon on 11 May 2023, and hold it in storage pending the resolution of a Pleasure Boat Licensing dispute with the boat's owner, Mr George Ward.
Commercial Boat Services have no right or lawful authority to sell 'March Hare', and the unauthorised sale of the boat last week amounts to theft under the applicable relevant Sections of the Theft Act 1968.
Commercial Boat Services have been given until close of business on Monday 5 August 2024 to resolve this matter by way of formally cancelling the sale, and making proposals for appropriate restitution to the owner of 'March Hare', after which time in the absence of any such action on the part of Commercial Boat Services, last week's sale of 'March Hare' will be reported to the Police as theft.
Will anyone reading this notice/appeal, please pass it on by re-posting it, with my contact details, on any other website, webpages, or forum to which they have participating access. My contact details are :-

Been out for a ride on the bikes, did just over 70 miles. Went to Loughborough as that was the only branch that had what I wanted locally. Sam says he's feeling a bit better so he's going to get the train up later today so we'll ride out to the GWSR tomorrow. Going to finish off the Scoopy legshield now.
