I've got until the end of October to be arsed to get my licence back.
I suppose I should really but I can't see myself wanting to drive again anyway.
They did send me the form but I tore it up as the title on the envelope was 'tax it or lose it' and I had already sold the car.
Prefer Boats. Trains can be useful.
The difficulty with leaving it two yars is there is then a need to do another driving test.
Hmm. Might get the DL form from a post orifice.

I don't need a car for works. The women can use their own transport to get to me.
Also if I get awarded the cash legacy in December I can retire to a life of obscurity and sail around the worlds in a sloop.
I think I will go for a GRP.
I did a sailing course yars ago. It is broadly speaking like riding a bike.

Suggested that he buy a solar panel to keep the battery topped up ... I couldn't stop laughing 🤣 All that money and he can't park it for any length of time ... he likes to go abroad for two or three months in winter and go boating in summer ... it's going to be fun with that car. Rog You can actually get solar panels for cars that plug into the cigarette lighter socket and allegedly keep the battery topped up, although this depends on the socket being live when the ignition is off. I always disconnect the battery when I go away cruising as my car is posh and has an analogue clock (with an oak bezel) which would probably deplete the battery quicker than digital clocks fitted to cheaper, downmarket cars aimed at the lower classes, such as Skodas.

I don't think powering the solar panel via the cigar lighter would be a good idea.

To be fair cigar lighter sockets on cars are usually pretty well specced. I think it is something like 13 amps they can handle in terms of the wiring. Might be more.

You're in trouble if the panel draws 15 amps though

My bike draws enough when doing nothing to flatten the battery in about a week. My solution was to fit an isolator to the negative battery lead. Works well and gives off a nice spark when you reconnect, which is fun. Doubles as an additional anti-theft measure. Only a fiver or so, you can get slightly larger ones for cars too.
