still windy here, but less than overnight. Very strong gusts for a couple of hours around midnight, things rattled but nothing went for a trip, still gusting but much calmer. Sunny morning but high cloud building up

I wondered if the rough sleepers had turned up for breakfast, as Andy had suggested Blustery cold wind, but nothing exceptional. Managed to turn at the junction and reverse back to the water point. Actually quite sunny but cold. Supposed to rain later ... we'll see. Rog

IT's stilll a bit bultersy here this morning but we're staying put until next week anyways when we head up the narrow canal... today consists of a walk up the narrow a bit, a u-turn to see the man in harbour master here to pay him/return an unused electric card (money already on the meter) and then a walk to screw fix to buy a new ariel/bracket and pole - sick of this useless "omni-directional" one rarley picking up. gonna fit 6 foot pole and normal one - AND remove the booster from the system as I just realised it's been drawiing 2amps per hour 24/7 since i installed it - doh! We have a booster and I dont think we've had any clear pictures without it. Fortunately it has a off switch. Not that we watch much tv

Tv aerials: we tried various omnidirectional boosted aerials, they were all crap and we rarely got a signal. Then we got a shortish log periodic aerial from eBay. Works great. Most of the time I just plonk it on the roof on the gang plank, point it the right way (iPhone app) and it works fine (no booster). There have only been a couple of times it didn’t, once on the KandA and once on the Hudd Narrow. For that, I attached the aerial to the boat pole and placed it upright on the welldeck, through a ring we have their for support. Then worked fine. unispectra L20u, about 1.25 feet long.

Hope the satellite dish still works after it's swim. Rog It is swim what? Anyway thank you for the concern, but yes it’s (it is) fine. Visited Tesco supermarket at rugby, turned round just the other side of the bridge (pretty tight, about 1’ to spare) and now tied up in one of the few spots at Newbold with view of the satellite. Dish aligned, Pointless now on, tea and scones with jam being served, what’s not to like!

Shouldn't that be "Rugby" - with a capital R, sir?
Moored or tied up? - perhaps too much information......
