Brings back memories of the good old gymkhana days and Hickstead obviously.

Hickstead ? Is that where they used to have a great big bank where the horse and rider jumped up at quite a low level, but then had a huge drop down off it ? Not the best description ...but I have a vague youthful recollection ... so old it's in black and white Rog ETA Back easing JohnV ?

They are going to do a virtual grand national.
An E-grand national if you like.
That's what I heard anyway.
Yes Hickstead is a showjumping ground.

We couldn't afford a telly on account of the ponies and the Bentley. And the Facel Vega in the garage. That was probably the real problem. An unused Facel Vega swallowing up all the spare cash.

Thank you . It is a day we need to visit the shop ... neither of us take milk in our drinks or eat cereals with milk ... it's amazing how much this helps in seriously reducing visits to the shop. But the time has come ... as we haven't got any pasta (my favourite food) I'd settle for a bag or two of whole grain fusilli rather than any land. To be honest land is probably the last thing we need, living on the boat ... unless I grow some spaghetti trees . (Who's old enough to remember that ?) Rog I have pasta...2 packets...dunno why sons left them but maybe one day I'll cook summit Don't know if this of any interest to either of you or anyone else. On tv this morning someone was making her own pasta using just semolina flour and water. Just added water to the middle of the flour, like when mixing cement, then neaded it until fully mixed, chopped it into manageable bits, and rolled it out.

Bit like making proper bread - dead easy!
Shocked to find after being 29th in the queue at Morrisons this morning a pallet of sliced white (sh*te) bread stacked taller than me all reduced to 30p a loaf.
Even more horrified to go back again late afternoon (I can only carry what I have in a back pack so to keep me and the dog going and away for a fortnight takes a few goes) it's nearly all still there - no pasta, no rice, no toilet rolls, no snot poodles (only checked out of interest to see why there were two empty shelves), no crisps - but loads of veg reduced - silly prices such as from £1.50 to 15p, fruit from £2 to 20p -what ARE people doing/thinking?
Take care x

Take care x There is a Lidl near my London boat and I noticed they have a skip in the car park and someone has been throwing bags of something in it. I don't really want to think what it might be but it did not seem to be excess bodies which was a relief. Could have been surplus stock of things nobody ever buys. Odd situation really.
