This sounds good. I've had a slap in the face and plates thrown at me by the woman. Is this supposed to be the other way around ? And yes she is from a council estate but in France with 7 siblings and two parents in a two bed flat. Unlike myself who lived in mansions as a child with just two siblings and socially distant parents. I'm kind of on her side here. The woman FFS? Give us a name (it dosen't have to be the real one). But I do understand that you hsve suffered. Her name is too furrin for most people to deal with. Anyway I'm under the OSA on this as naming members of my family could put them in immediate danger due to the sensitivity of my work. Let's just say her name is a hell of a lot more awkward to pronounce than my mother's which was Sarah. It's one of those Google privacy problems which is why Evangeline advised me not to advertise it. She (E) did consider having my children but worked out that I am the ultimate nightmare from hell as a person. The woman did not know this and obviously mid thirties woman ovaries going bang bang bang etc she does not read this forum. It's all ok now by the way I am not a victim of domestic violence so no need to worry.

Infamy ... infamy ... they've (altogether now ) all got it in for me !
I did not steal a boat.
Never, ever !
I may have inadvertently ... trying to assist others ... helped somebody else to steal one.
But it was an accident.

Bloody hell it took me ages to work out what dogless did there. "dogless said:Can I just emphasise I'm the 'holier than thou' one ... the 'champion virtue signaller' ... I don't use bad language on the forum and I'm a gentleman." Can be said in one word innit

The plans are going ahead then ... dream edging into reality. Rog Aimed at me? Still a long way off. I need to sell the rental house first. I've agreed a sale but the gun toting African drug dealer left a trail of destruction behind him. Back yard filled with rubbish, holes drilled in tiling and kitchen units, bath destroyed, carpets and laminate flooring ruined, food splattered on kitchen walls, light bulbs stolen. He didn't even bother to lock the front door when he left. I can't face going there, I'd probably want to follow this up by getting some mates together and having his legs broken but I'm too old for all that so I'm not going to prompt temptation. I'm going to sit and wait, see how many more thousands the buyer's solicitor will recommend is knocked off the agreed price which in itself is £10K less than I agreed to sell it for in November. On a brighter note, despite this loss I can still go ahead with my plans, just means I'll need to do a bit of work at some stage. Not the end of the world. I've got my eye on 2 places in Barmouth, either of them would do, I know this before visiting but won't be so reckless as to make an offer without a viewing. As soon as Wales falls in line with England re. covid I'll hot foot it over there. Hopefully I can recover a few thousands of my losses with a lower offer for these houses, in the current climate.

Bloody hot on the boat here. Such is the destruction caused by the gun toting African drug dealer that the buyer's surveyor has recommended a brand new kitchen and bathroom be fitted (I fitted new, 7 years ago). Buyer has now pulled out. Meanwhile gun toting African drug dealer is refusing to have a penny deducted from their deposit, insisting they have caused no damage, and that the court judgment I have against him for court costs isn't fair. You are not too old, did I you say that? I can send you a couple of guys to sort him out, £100 each plus expenses for a bit of a bashing, £500 each if guns involved. No violence, no blood.

Meanwhile in our world it's been a lovely sunny day. Unfortunately Jane tripped on the uneven towpath on her run this morning, and grazed her hands and knees and banged the left side of her face ... not on tarmac this time so a little softer and consequently a little less damage. We had a lovely walk this afternoon and will probably cruise a bit further tomorrow. Of course I will have to accept the harsh stares for a couple of days, but at least she didn't do any serious damage. Saw quite a few boats on the move today, particularly on the Shroppie ... of course movement is now a requirement once again, and boaters can go out for trips, so not that surprising. Any news on a window to exit the L&L yet quaysider ? Rog eeek - poor Jane, I'm pondering whether to phone Ester Ranson on her behalf... given her youthfulness .... I'm patiently awaiting the update on 29th where a window might be mentioned. Given their previous form, it will be a 2 day window with usual "locked flight times" for Blackburn and Wigan which will mean it's totally useless... and more likely, with 12 hours notice of it's commencement. I've emailed Richard Delves (the business bloke) asking him to push for a week window from 3rd June to give everyone who needs to get across the full "closed section enough time to do it without getting trapped in Blackburn or at the top of Wigan.... We'll see what happens this week If it's not a bit enough, it'll have to be back to plan c which is the crane and lorry option.

Well, no. the developer expected us to exchange at the price agreed back in January. They don't seem prepared to accept that the world, and everyone's wealth (except for what they have in actual cash) has changed by somewhere between minus 5 and 20 percent in the last two months.
Do you think house prices have reduced then? I haven’t took much notice of houses, but boats and motorbikes, which I know a little about have certainly not fallen in price. There's very little evidence yet. I'd agreed to sell a house for £85,000 in November. Buyer pulled out, then another buyer pulled out 2 weeks ago at £75,000. Agreed to sell it 2 days ago for £70,500. This suggest a large fall in value but most of this could be explained by the fact that the tenant trashed the house. I could have probably got a couple more thousand if I'd hung on but I'm keen to move and need the money. My view is that there will be a fall, but it will be delayed until the government's public spending largesse comes to an end. The fall is unlikely to be uniform, it will likely be greater at the more expensive end of the market and close to airports etc. As for new build: despite what many people think margins on new build houses are pretty tight. Developers are not going to write themselves a loss without putting up a fight. I think the price of new builds will remain the same for around 9 months or so. The penny will then drop, nobody is going to buy new build houses at 'the old rate' and a lack of cashflow for the developers will force them to be more realistic with their prices. How much might prices fall? nobody knows.

Thanks for the offer but Fozzy and Deano would do it for a couple of pints. My worry is that as well as breaking his legs they'd more than likely racially abuse him as well, I'd hate to have this on my conscience for the rest of my life.

Movement was certainly a requirement for my MI6 special operations vessel which I seem to have steered from near Windsor to near Abingdon on the Thames including some night ops on sunday/Monday. Instruction was to get a bit of training in while it's quiet. No impacts occurred so all good and no grounding despite the shallow bits here and there. Local knowledge is handy sometimes. Not a lot of boats out in the mornings but they did come out later. Nice to see people enjoying the River. I like solitude but I also like people enjoying boating. The paddle boards are a nuisance though. Why do they always talk so loud? So you can hear them?

Rog I think they are cruel to you Rog, you've told us umpteen times the beatings have stopped, you've never been caught and done time for stealing a boat. Now we learn that Jane is chaste. I believe you, your virtue is intact.

Just cruised and done Swanley and Baddiley locks and not seen a moving boat ... it was wonderful.
I'm sure it will get busier, but nevertheless it's a memorable journey.
I'm sorry if you're one who can't yet stay overnight on your boat ... but we are required to move again now.

This morning The Witch set up our new modem thingy. I thought she said that, when she measured the speed between the old one's activity and this new one's, she said "4 and 7". I started uploading a video to YouTube and was surprised to see 16% straight away instead of the usual 1-2%. Pirkko said No, I said seventy times faster, not seven. Blimey! -what has taken 2.5 hours to load before has now gone up in 10 minutes! So I may as well put it up now for anyone who likes This Sort Of Thing. My run 0815-0950 this morning along the Viirre river valley. Nice weather. Had the idea to tape a small tripod down the the panel behind the windscreen to avoid camera shake.

I think the can’t stay overnight part of your post is now old hat. The Ashby has now gained some overnight stayers. Cummins has changed some boaters attitudes, rules wise. The sun is beautiful this week.
