Some work to fetch that up to the standard of the yellow peril. Enjoy the trip Rog All of the bits that are missing in the photo came with the bike and are now fitted. He's going to leave it here when he heads home and with the help of a couple of fellow boaters I'm planning to get it fully working and MOT'd in the next month or so, cosmetically though we're not looking to do a respray but rather to just rub down the rust patches and lacquer the frame to give it the "backyard beater" rat bike look while being fully road legal.

As for the boating thing I've actually managed to do quite a lot this weekend while practising social distancing.
I don't really need practice as I am perfect at it already but never mind.
Oxfordshire Thames and middlesex canal. Two very different things but nice in their own ways.
Also been using trains in an attempt to expose the oil glut scam.
Nobody else on the trains. Maybe I misunderstand the catastrophe in some way but it seems to me if you need to travel a long distance then using a train is the correct procedure. And the trains are running. Empty.
I suppose the fact they don't burn the oil up like all the people in their cars do is a bit awkward.
Has anyone else cottoned on to the car scam? It's quite a good one that is.

I remember a long time ago probably about 20 years I went through Nuneaton on my boat and there was a massive hole in the ground by the canal. It was enormous.
Not sure what it was or where exactly but never seen anything like it since.
It must have been a mine of some sort. I could see it from the boat but it was obviously quite a long way from the canal itself.

Weird with trains.
Our nine week mooring at Nantwich was adjacent to the railway lines and trains ran constantly every half hour or so ... yet in all the time moored there I never saw a passenger on any train.
I saw the governments charts at the briefing today ... it looked like car usage was approaching very close to normal ... but trains were just flat lined.
I wonder how long it will be before people decide to go back to train travel ... I realise London is different ... I'm talking about the shires.

What does "where are you from?' mean.
Does it refer to where you were born, areas you have lived in or what?
I get asked this question sometimes and have trouble answering it because of a lack of identity.
It's an interesting subject.
"Where are you from" nowhere "What do you do for a living?" nothing

I was born and raised in pit villages in the Rotherham/Barnsley boundary area ... Bolton -on-Dearne, Wath-on-Dearne, Swinton.
I did live for a year in Fulford, York, and for the last fifteen years lived largely on a boat travelling.
But home remains those pit villages ... although they no longer have pits ... and have become urban sprawl.
