I have to admit, I'm not keen on the idea of everyone wearing masks all over the place - SUCH a fuss has been made about the nicab (letter box thingy) and motor bikers in helmets from a "security" point of view, it now seems a bit hypocritical to make everyone on a train/bus wear them.
WILL there be an outcry about this? - no... but to play devils advocate /**it stirrer, it's no different to an Asian lady covering her face in public and look at all the hoohaa in France that has caused...
The world is mad!
I'm gonna grow a ginger beard to create the illusion OF a mask!

There are lots and lots of viruses and infections in the world. Why pick on one to be paranoid about Rog Because this is the only virus in this country that will kill me if I get it and I have very little control over whether I catch it or not. HIV could of course kill me but I have an easy way of avoiding that.

It looks as if I am going to have to get a mask... Now i'm not moaning but having looked at all the specifications and various sorts etc I just cannot decide whats best... ATM if I think ought too..the rare occasions that lots in my local Tescos ..and they r all mask, I use this long scarf and sorta drape it round my mouth/nose and then my glasses steam up and I cannot see what to buy.. I really want some nice coloured/pretty ones with the capacity to stick filter in(bit of kitchen roll).. Anyway moving on from that thought I then thought about long train journeys.....now apparently one has to wear masks so does this now mean no food or drink?? Cannot see that one working....

Did I say contactless? Anyway, I like cash. Stop picking on it. Pirkko has so far refused to use 'contactless', now she does. She keeps blobbing alcohol gel on my hands after we leave shops - this is OK because after rubbing my hands together I can clap them over my nose and breathe in and it makes me think of a swig of vodka before sauna! I have been using cash. I do notice that many cashiers do not drop change into your mitt now, but leave it on the table, and you are expected to pull your own receipt from the machine. This is all a bit stupid as NO-ONE IS WEARING MASKS INSIDE THE SHOPS AND BREATHING THE VIRUS ONTO EVERYTHING!!

By the way, not sure I mentioned this, but all the restaurants up in Kainuu and Lapland were closed, all the villages and small towns looked like.... er.... ghost villages and ghost towns. Restaurants are now allowed to be open - but - there are no tourists!! Our holiday apartment was in a complex / hotel - and there were perhaps just 3 apartments occupied out of the lot. Imagine Butlins with 10 people.

A close friend and colleague of my sister's has been diagnosed with Guillain Barr syndrome after becoming ill and eventually collapsing paralysed.
She's in hospital learning to use her arms and legs again ... was able to send a short text message the other day ... a real achievement.
We're becoming a nation of 'worried well' terrified to live due to the risk.

Thanks patty ... she's a Senior Nursing Sister like my sis ... came out of nowhere ... devastating and life changing. It makes you realise that we have to enjoy the moment ... we owe it to others who are less fortunate and who knows what's round the corner for us all. Despite the strong winds it has been a warm mostly sunny day at Ellesmere. I'm lucky to be afloat, enjoying both my boat and the system. I hope everyone gets to enjoy blue skies too Rog ETA Just noticed we're almost at 500 pages
