Occasional sun, but mostly cloudy and a stiff breeze which made the temperature very comfortable ... a sudden brief, unforecasted downpour at about 6.30pm.

It's nice to read an adjective other than 'incredible'. Thank you all, the English language is alive and kicking, after all.

I think @magnetman 's use of absquatulate deserves a prize ... but having received it he'd probably defenestrate it Rog

I have been perusing several books that I have in my possession seeking to extend my rather limited vocabulary and then I decided that perhaps if I treated these individuals as droguluses(though I'm not sure drogulus has a plural) it wouldn't matter that I don't know many fancy words.....

I like highly descriptive words too but they don't have to be rarely used to have impact. 'Frenzy' is an excellent word, as is 'flange'.

Sunday lunch was terrific at the Greyhound, Burston ... family run and staffed, all friendly, welcoming and great service. Really enjoyed it and would recommend it if you're in the area. Just a fifteen minute walk from the canal ... and it stayed dry for our walk in both directions Rog ETA Scurryfunge is a great word ... the act of hurriedly tidying up when visitors appear

I don't have a problem with scurryfunging. If people find the dishevelled appearance discombobulating they are always free to absquatulate Of course usually my obvious floccinaucinihilipilification of cleanliness comes across as a positive trait at least to those who know me. Or they just don't mention it out of rectitude.
