I do sometimes comb my hair with a fork to stop the dreadlocks.
I'd really not like dreadlocks. Very infra dig.

"shouldn't we currently be holding the funerals of most of the 500,000 people who crammed onto Bournemouth beach?"
"Surely ICUs should now be dealing with the tides of patients from the infection increase? Apparently just 1 person per million of UK population are currently on a ventilator.
Meanwhile lots more people are dying from flu and pneumonia and nobody seems to give that the slightest mention?"

I have been perusing several books that I have in my possession seeking to extend my rather limited vocabulary and then I decided that perhaps if I treated these individuals as droguluses(though I'm not sure drogulus has a plural) it wouldn't matter that I don't know many fancy words..... droguli oh thank you.... I have written down a few more ace words but they r over t'other side of the room and I've had an exhausting day..... My window cleaning became hampered by a 3 year old standing in my bucket of water.... My patience has been tried and tested.....

I don't have a problem with scurryfunging. If people find the dishevelled appearance discombobulating they are always free to absquatulate Of course usually my obvious floccinaucinihilipilification of cleanliness comes across as a positive trait at least to those who know me. Or they just don't mention it out of rectitude. By the way @magnetman ... you win ... can't compete with floccinaucinihilipilification ... Jane's in awe. Rog

I have a major beef with the Oxford Concise, which refuses to accept the legitimacy of the word "ard" (although it is plain to see in the Collins Concise).
The major beef is because the authoritive dictionary for a word competition I frequently attempt, is the Oxford Concise
The number of times the word ard is possible is quite large and causes a considerable increase in frustration levels on every occasion.
searching out obscure words such as discombobulate is purely an attempt to obnubilate the reader

Discombobulated was one of the words my mum used to use quite a lot She never went to school but was well self-educated nonetheless.

Exalted and extolled JohnV .., but I'm afraid @magnetman 's floccinaucinihilipilification wins Rog Its a little early to seek out new words to enthral and surprise... Up since 4am...it might be an exciting day ahead... Oh and water now runs downhill in the shower tray ..almost there...I can live with slight pooling ...it'll do They just need to come back one more time to disguise the unsightly finish...I did offer to 'have a go' but they declined

The saddest thing about floccinaucinihilipilification is that I can write it down without looking up the spelling.
I've known the word since at school and it was a good description of my views on school itself.

Spelling it's easy ... it's pronouncing it that's tough.
I see the second 'c' is pronounced like an 's' ... so pronounced 'flocsi ...'
My current ambition is to introduce the word, casually into conversation : Rog
