Rain rain and more rain We have to go boating today to get back and its a long 8hr day across the flatlands. Still, on a positive note there are only two locks to do so C can stay inside in the dry.

Stopped in Upwell, tied up, thirty seconds later heavens opened its now very wet out there. No fuel, no chimney so no fire can be lit, might put central heating on later. Why cant you light a fire without a chimney?

Why cant you light a fire without a chimney? No fuel either. But without a chimney all the tar etc condenses and runs down the roof and side of the boat damaging the paintwork and the paintwork is only a week old

As I stepped out it stopped raining and stayed dry all day except for one shower whist we worked the second lock. No available mooring in Whittlesea aso we are now tied up at Stanground on the lock landing. Tomorrow we have first booking for the lock and back onto Gods river, weather forecast worse than today, we shall see.

Glorious sunshine ... torrential rain ... thunder and lightning ... biblical hailstones ... glorious sunshine again.
It's been a strange day but ready to go into the arm tomorrow and train home.
Always a bit of a downer ... but loads to look forward to too.
Hope you proper boaters have a great, mild winter.

Well. After 10 years of waiting on the council list. We have, subject to a few checks been offered a house.
Finally going to get a garden and a bedroom each for the kids.
Quite excited really. Another 20 minutes away from work, but I can deal with that.
Its right on the edge of the New forest, so 50 metres away from Nice walks, rides and wild camping.
And importantly a drive way so I can actually get stuck into restoring the van.
