Excellent news thebfg ... kids will be so excited too Rog They are, except the older one is refusing to change schools. The local ones aren't doing the courses he wants and he is studying key stage 4 yet the year he is in locally are only KS3. So we have some issues to iron out. He struggles to make friends and has some problems that previous schools just wanted to punish him for but the current one has worked with him and the results are he is in top sets for the main lessons. So I understand his anxiety over it.

Well. After 10 years of waiting on the council list. We have, subject to a few checks been offered a house. Finally going to get a garden and a bedroom each for the kids. Quite excited really. Another 20 minutes away from work, but I can deal with that. Its right on the edge of the New forest, so 50 metres away from Nice walks, rides and wild camping. And importantly a drive way so I can actually get stuck into restoring the van. Thats really good news. I hope you will all settle in and reading through the thread ref schools...its understandable that he's worried..lets face it we all would be. Take time to address his fears, with Covid everything is all change anyway. It may be that if the school he changes to is aware of the problems they can work with you. As to subjects he's taking, thats a tough one to sort if not offered elsewhere. Good luck...

It was a beautiful day yesterday ... back in shorts and walking around the town for several hours, finishing off with a pint of Timothy Taylor's Landlord sat in the sun. Felt like a boaty thing to do. A bit cloudy and dull today ... brought the genny from the boat and going to service it shortly ... that'll have to be my boaty fix for today Rog

Not a fan of on-line shopping ... in fact personally, I've never bought anything on line. The two foam filters for the genny are ready for changing ... the foam's breaking up a little. Had to order them on-line and I've done it myself Only a fiver for both (two bits of foam so not exactly cheap). A bit sad that nowadays you basically have to buy on-line because the suppliers have closed down. Not an on-line shopping virgin anymore. Rog

Not a fan of on-line shopping ... in fact personally, I've never bought anything on line. I buy loads of stuff online, either because I wouldn't know where to buy it in a physical shop (such as the tinplate signs for the moped shed), plus both Coventry and Rugby are a 15+ mile round trip and parking the car is a pain as well as being expensive so it's a lot easier to drop in to the Post Office in Brinklow to collect online purchases, plus it can be massively cheaper- I bought 13 BMC 1.5 oil filters for £25 including delivery from HGV Direct whereas the cheeky fuckers at Midland Chandlers want £12.60 for ONE of them.

We have an Amazon locker in the petrol station next door to the house, always ordering stuff and pop there when I get home to collect..
I would say 90% of my purchasing is online.

I bought (won in auction) a bicycle from Ebay. Directly because of this we ended up with our narrowboat. If someone else had outbid me, I wouldn't be here right now. Blame them!!

After todays stressful experience I'm gonna try and get to grips with online groceries. Bl.... awful day... I try to use local shops but the attitude of people has just finished me.

Are you still on oil filters that double as fire lighters? If so £12.60 is extremely strong for one, seeing as Midland Chandlers are part of the Arleigh group I wonder if the £12.60 filters are bloody Crossland filters🤔🧐😡
