So who is going to make the evening meal? And what is it?

I feel very self righteous. Spent a couple of hours polishing all the interior brasses, whilst Jane washed all the ornaments. Are you having some kind of "Pikey of the Year" competition with mjg?

The shiny brass and ornaments stop our interior being coffin like. Worth considering Shepherds pie and veg for dinner, made by Jane. Still raining. Rog

Raining here too. Hoping for a bit of a better day tomorrow because the bog needs emptying so I have to get to Fradley. Top-up with diesel at Streethay Wharf on the way, not quite as cheap as Turner's but not far behind. Then a wait at Fradley for the locks to re-open. Pint or two in the Mucky Duck no doubt.

I'm thinking of setting the clock for 7am (horrors !) as the morning seems best part of the day.
It'll be good to be moving again after today.

Rog Normally I would move on a day like today but there seems little point in rushing to Fradley because it would just be a case of "hurry up and wait". I'll have four or five days there as it is. Might head into Alrewas for a day or two or might just go out exploring on the Yellow Peril.

If you are heading up the T&M, be aware that the stoppage at Aston Lock (just short of Stone) has just been extended to 24th March.

Wheaton Aston and diesel at Turner's is 70.9p (Fazeley Mill makes it look expensive !). Lovely cruise, with loads of kingfishers to accompany us. Services done, turned, reversed for diesel, and moored opposite the pub, just as it started to rain. Shower and a walk to the coop ... then pub o clock. And we have tv signal for the rugby Rog

Streethay Wharf was cheap last time I was here but it was 87p per litre today. My guess would be that it's a batch they bought in November/December 2018 when wholesale prices were around 12ppl higher than they are now. I only managed to get 52 litres in so it's not the end of the world.
Now at Fradley, pulled up just before it started raining.
Ta to Nick for Aston Lock info. This will necessitate a change of plan of some description.
