As we've been trapped indoors - hiding from whatever THIS particular storm is called for the last couple of days, this morning I entered all last years trips into canal planner to produce a map and summary of where we traveled... Just sharing it here in case anyone is interested... We Tried the Rochdale and were going to try Huddersfield Narrow briefly but they both were aborted when the drought closed them down. Total distance traveled: 504 miles, 316 locks and more swing bridges than you can shake a stick at.

Good luck with the tunnel tomorrow.
We were quite taken with Uppermill when we were up that way.
Have fun.

We've just moved up now ... bugger me, a boat overtook us today and is first in the queue - there's only the 2 of us booked apparently.
The sooner we're out the other side (assuming we fit) the better... "taps feet together - there's no place like home".....

Mind your head if you stand up, and you can't lean to the side to check the side of the boat against the walls (to see the gap) as the walls can be all knobbly. It really is a marvel, right through the spine of the Pennines.

Here's where I went last year. I'm not sure how far it was or how many locks.
