Well exactly, but yet again you will notice that Tony the Diesel Cretin has launched an unprovoked personal attack for no reason whatsoever, so yet again I have had to give the thieving, lying con-man a bitch slap. It's the same every time, he starts it, I finish it.

Most of the time I ignore it, sometimes I decide to give the senile old coffin-dodging oxygen-thief a slap. Depends what type of mood I'm in really.

He might have had a sly dig ....... but he didn't break into a full outburst of invective Minus 1 point You should have left it at your original reply, that would have been plus 1 point

Situation re. Wykewell End Lift Bridge as at 1200 hrs. on 22 March 2019 :
Yesterday's visit from the "fabrication supplier"(sic) mentioned in the C&RT Stoppage Notice update of 21/03/2019 @ 10:26 served no useful purpose. There is, however, some good news, although as things stand at the moment there appears to be little hope that repairs will be completed in anything less than 2 weeks.
The matter is now receiving the personal attention of the Leeds area Operations Manager, who contacted me this morning.
He has located the original working drawings of the bridge, from when it replaced the old swingbridge around 40 years ago, and taken the drawings to a specialist firm in Sheffield who have been instructed to manufacture a pair of new hanger bars to original specification. As yet there is no date for completion of manufacture and delivery to site, but this will be notified and published as soon as it's available, together with an estimate for time needed to install the new parts on the bridge.
Meanwhile, of course, this leaves the only direct route between the C&RT controlled river Trent and C&RT's Northeastern broad waterways as via the lower Trent and Ouse and ABP's Ocean Lock at Goole, or the C&RT's side-lock in the Ouse at Selby.

I wonder about the condition of the hangers on the other bridges like those, allong new junction canal and at Barnby.
Were they not all installed around the same time period?

They were, . . at around the same time, and mostly to the same basic design and layout, adapted to suit the greater navigational width of the New Junction and at Barnby Dun.

Thank you very kindly Tony - looks like Goole and Ocean Lock it is then. Plan to lock out 1hr after HT (14:00 on Sat) and use the ebb to get to the anchorage behind Whitton Is. I'll then be well placed to take the first of the flood up through Trent Falls on Sunday (about 9:30am).

There's no need to use two tides with another tide in between on the anchor somewhere round Trent End. You can get up the Trent from Goole on the Ebb of one tide and the first of the flood of the next tide on the same day. Which Saturday and Sunday are those times you've quoted for ? They're not right for this weekend (23rd & 24th) or next weekend (30th & 31st). You will also need to make sure you clear Ocean Lock before Free Tide Time finishes, which means no later than an hour and a half after the predicted time of local (ie. Goole) HW, which not the same time as Hull HW. If you don't, then ABP will sting you for £34.20 for a pen into the river.

Something else worth remembering when dealing with Ocean Lock and that is Commercial vessels have priority. In practice that means that you might be asked to go earlier ..... or more likely kept hanging around. You often can't plan your exit time exactly. At your airdraft at least you wont need a bridge lift to enter the docks. They like you to book in 24 hours in advance (give or take) but don't take that to mean you are actually booked in. Give them another ring a few hours before and confirm (they might suggest that)
