I just couldnβt cope with the worry of that. I prefer cheap and cheerful technology. Mine do 200 volts and 79 amps each nothing else comes close, I can set the charging to anything up to a 96volt battery bank, they are the dogs bollocks of controllers. Iβve followed your electric boat story. Itβs rather impressive. I expect that one day they will all be electric.

Given that the panels should be disconnected first and the high cost of controllers it's a poor show that the contoller isn't fitted with a switch that disconnects the panels. Maybe some regulation is in order here, perhaps the EU could sort it

A good cheap (two words that don't often go together...!) MPPT solar controller for an average system. www.eco-worthy.com/catalog/worthy-mppt-solar-charge-controller-12v24v-p-182.htmlI got it direct from them with a discount code it came to Β£63 I specifically went for this one as the load output can be switching from dusk to dawn / dawn to dusk - which is what is wanted on the Freeman I'm currently buggering about with. It's has a quick trial on my 40w panel and looks good π
