Yup, incredible how all that metal, fuel, bone and flesh gets in the sky - what's even more incredible is more often than not it gets back on the ground with little to no incident. The landing is definitely where the pilot and co pilot earn their corn 🙈 It's all that power & thrust I like !😉 Oh dear. She's at it again.

You haven't lived until you've done an internal flight in the former USSR on an Aeroflot Tupelov Tu-154. Now, that is scary. unusual views in a Fokker Friendship .... High wing monoplane so great view of what the tyres go through during landing. Most frightening.... small outfit called Quito Airlines in Peru .... DC3 (I think it was their only plane as well) ...... prayed the whole way ... it was older than me These Fokker Friendship F27 planes were very good and simple planes, not too much to go wrong on one of these, but still highly overcomplicated in comparison to the DC3, best planes ever built, even if some people started to believe in a God after a flight in one of these. I've had that pleasure only once on a very short flight from Amsterdam to Antwerpen, and simply loved it, didn't pray a single minute, and liked the experience. Everything is so basic on one of these DC3's that even someone that has studied in Barcelona, and because of that knows nothing, can understand why something doesn't work, and find an easy solution to cure that for good or just temporarely to help a safe landing. There's no substitute for simplicity a DC3 was built following the well proved KISS system. Peter.
