So Peter you will know that breakers etc are in circuit to protect the cables on the current drawing side and not the equipment and are not in circuit to protect the source of the current. Unlike some of them on CWF and apparently a BSS Inspector. Suspect this has all arisen from the change to the regs where in domestic premises fuses etc have to be in a fireproof enclosure, but maybe not it could be that the original boater, the friend just got the wrong end of the stick. Its all in the electrical regs and you could always google it couldnt they? but no they would rather make it up. My last boat had no AC on it so I installed it simple when I sold it no one asked to see any paperwork for it quite strange really but that boats for you

Paul C is not on electrician No, he is an idiot though. So he's qualified to talk shit. (even though he has never actually owned a boat).

There is no need for paperwork beyond a BSC. Now when you come to domestic premises all work done in kitchens, bathrooms and externally, garden power etc, post 2005, has to be covered by a certificate, there were some reductions in what was notifiable in Apr 2013.

Well, if you didn't notice, he started spouting shortly after suggesting the build of a database for cwdf. He pinched the idea from a member, then proceeded to con others for input to build it. Since then, he has become a renowned expert in the field (in his head). This has allowed him the ability to cross reference and then apply answers to certain questions.

No I hadn't noticed, I'm not sure if it's cos I'm busy enough in real life or I've had my head up me arse when online, one thing is for sure, anyone with an ounce of sense should put him on the one to ignore list. It's one of the failings of CWDF that you can't call him out as we all know how that would end up. A good old fashioned bit of Anglo Saxon always works with the dumb arses I have come across in a technical capacity Over the years

Mind you I suspect certain people there are immune to it due to the brown nosing culture. Having said that, if anyone needs any serious information they perhaps shouldn't rely on a forum unless it is very specialised. Or better still, seek the advice from a known professional. For example, if you need some expert advice on how to use Google, ask MtB.

Well, A good old fashioned bit of Anglo Saxon always works with the dumb arses I have come across in a technical capacity Over the years it is the only way sometimes, I skippered a tug over winter on a civil engineering job. A self proclaimed gaffer from the ground workers kept trying to get me to do dangerous things with the boats. In the end a quick bout of Anglo Saxon sorted him out and he gave up trying to tell me what to do with the boats.

A lot on CWDF seem very shocked at mild swearing, they would be fucked at my place

Exactly if you come across an eejit causing hassle on a job the quicker you let them know the easier life gets. I'd love to tell mtb what I think of him, but that's probably not going to happen. But one can live in hope.
