Probably taken after a festival or 'party in the park'. Just another unverfied image or video posted on Facebook that cretins will take at face value as genuine.
No wonder the world is fucked...

Stop being silly John, this thread nicely reinforces the point i was making, hence i made it on here. I cant help it if the forum is too complex for you to grasp.

I thought if there was a large gathering then people were encouraged to just leave their litter behind when they leave the site. If they all have to go and find bins you have people randomly wandering about which is hazardous. Much easier to leave the litter then simply get a contractor in to deal with it afterwards. Reading festival seems to work like that. I have never been to any festivals but have passed the Reading site afterwards and it was a mountain of rubbish but that is the policy of the organisers not the fault of the individuals attending the event. Eta obviously it is the fault of individuals if their chosen behaviour pattern generates excessive rubbish but the not tidying up might be a policy. . I didn’t know that. Looks awful though. It’s like all those organised runs for charity the water points are littered with discarded plastics. The few I’ve done I’ve always tried to chuck my waste in a bin though mostly they r overflowing.

I'm not one for too much regulation, generally, but will make an exception here. It's beyond me why single use plastic water bottles aren't banned in Britain. I saw someone buy a big pack of the half litre size in Aldi the other day. Down the aisle they had metal water bottles in 1 litre and half litre size. I have the 1 litre from 3 years ago, it's still going strong. The half litre size would fit nicely in someone's handbag. They look nicer and are easier to use than a flimsy plastic bottle. Everyone (apart from the homeless perhaps) has access to a tap with drinking quality water. Even those of us who live on boats.
Plastic water bottles below say 5 litres should be banned. It's a no brainer.

There's a deposit on them in Finland and they are recycled - even this morning I stopped my bus outside the S-Market in our village to insert a dozen plastic bottles into the machine that slices'n'dices 'em and got 3.40 Euros in coins into my hand.

The other way of looking it is that people who leave their plastic waste lying around rather than binning it are actually doing something clever which may lead to changes. Make it obvious rather than hiding the problem "brushing it under the carpet".
How about if there was a day when everyone was requested to leave all their plastic waste in public places like parks and pavements.
Then there might be a more serious discussion about the topic.
The problem is not littering. Littering does not present a real threat to survival but overconsumption probably does.

Maybe the protesters should change tactics. If they torched a few 4x4's folk might to start to think the protesters have got it nailed. Mind you, can't see it, only the most steadfast would torch daddy's car.

But she didn't need to fly to London, the virtue signaller, did she? She could have addressed the same problem in Los Angeles where she lives: She could have laid in the road to make her protest...
