I trust that photo is joke. If not, it looks bloody dodgy to me. I hope there is some protection and insulation (that has been removed for the sake of the photo) to prevent accidental contact with the terminals. Wouldn't pass BSS like that. I hope it wasn't installed by a 'professional' sparky. ............... on second thoughts, maybe that is why he was called Sparky. Not my photo, just one I found on t'internet, but the gist of it (the busbar) looks pretty easy ignoring the rest of it.

So constructive criticism: You have 2 busbars, all leads from them to battery terminals should be the same length, it looks like they might be. A tape measure is your friend! Then you need a box or sheet of ply or whatever to cover the tops of your batteries so nowt can fall onto the terminals. Some sort of cover on the +ve busbar would be a good thing. I suspect if others posted pics of their setup we could all find some fault or other, apart from telly matches, but he doesn't count cos he has a butler to do Everything. Just to clarify, that photo isn't mine or my boat! My boat looks nothing like that. It was the first example of a busbar on a narrowboat I could find. And despite the mess, I thought it illustrated the use of a busbar at least. I think I can take that on and do a better job.

Our batteries - 2 leisures and one starter. Rubber car mat fits over all to cover them.

It was a temporary hold to keep the dialogue box open.

On a positive note - I suppose the use of scrap wood is slightly better than cardboard.
