As this is the Politics thread, I'm guessing this will be allowed. It's 12 minutes long but there are some little gems in it. Clown at 11.44

And that was more than enough of the rabid twaddle to poison my mind for the day. Must dash, tactical vote to do, boat to fettle. The clown is also to be seen on the splash screen, red nose with white triangular highlight (on the phone on my laptop its grey). Of course when we say clown we mean one of the recent inventions, the axe murdering nasty evil sort. Not the nice Labour supporting kind and intelligent ones like me.

Is that the same clown that will have the biggest number of votes after todays vote? and will then have a well paid job because bigger clowns [labour party] made any deal impossible to get through parliament and because of that we will have a WTO brexit ................Perfik

I personally don't know. What are the benefits and pitfalls of a no deal brexit? Can you explain? Other than obviously the increase in tariffs as trading within the EU currently has a low tariff on average of about 1.5%.
There's obviously going to be plenty of benefits because leavers seem to be right behind a no deal brexit. So what are these benefits going to be?
I guess we'll be able to set up our own trade deals with the USA. Trump will be more than happy to make a great, favourable deal with us, I have no doubt.
ps. this is probably coming across as a bit more snide than I wanted it to, but genuinely I'm interested in why we shouldn't fear a WTO brexit.

No, I believe they are referring to Paul Joseph Watson - I've looked at a fair few of his videos on YouTube and I think what he says is quite sane. Have a look for yourself and make your own mind up. I also like the bloke who has made his many Cruising The Cut videos, also to be seen on YouTube - so this shows I am not completely round the bend, eh? As I recall, no-one here on Thunderboat has given ANY reasons why it is a good idea for the UK to stay under the control of Germany the EU. Apart from the copy & paste drivel Jim and someone else (a bit later, but the same source) slapped up.

I don't know what WTO even stands for, but there was no mention of any sort of 'deal' at the referendum, it's just clear that the majority of the UK's voting population (those who could be bothered to vote) have seen the EU to be a Bad Thing - and as Stabby pointed out, the EU leaders have never said, in the past 3 years: "Sorry - what are we doing wrong, why do you want to leave, how can we make things better?" We all know the EU is a huge gravy-train, go wild with your expenses, Business Class flights and freebies all round - did I mention the free accommodation in hotels? The EU has simply been sucking money from the wealthy countries to give to the poor countries, and in the process hand them loans and give them debts so they must toe the line to The Fatherland. There's no reason things can't carry on much as they were, but without the EU dictating to the UK what the UK 'must' do. The UK can decide what to do with its own money. I think this is where the acrimony comes in - no corrupt EU official or MEP wants the UK to withdraw its cash and send all the latest immigrants back to the EU where they came from - I mean those who have literally flooded in only since their country joined the EU and they got the green light to reside (loiter in the case of Romanian gypsies) and work in the UK. I know nothing about trade, but I don't see why the UK can't continue trading with EU countries (on an INDIVIDUAL basis - tell Juncker and Merkel & Co to 'do one' if they think the EU must approve), and, of course, the world outside the EU. The UK has nuclear weapons - these are the first thing that gives the country safety; nothing else in the History of Mankind has brought such a sudden stop to real, serious wars. Without these, there can be no bargaining in other matters. The UK still has intelligent and capable, skilled people, a varied and rich geology to help with the economy, a good climate for growing food, a metals industry, good infrastructure of roads and railways (and inland waterways!). The UK can bring tourists in, with its interesting history, old castles and stately homes, and a network of footpaths and National Parks. The financial industry is another facet. OK, the Universities have gone downhill, now occupied by LGBT snowflakes and, with that 'feminist' Victoria Bateman at Cambridge getting her tits out at every opportunity (Hughie Green could come back to host a TV show 'Opportunity Knockers'!). Can the UK survive on its own in the modern world, with China having become a giant? There's the USA and Russia to contend with - and then the Arabs have to be put up with because they have oil. A lot depends on what the population of the UK want. There's the question of 'who is British' and how loyal they are to the UK. Perhaps first and foremost a clearout of this current crop of traitorous politicians and all of the benefit scroungers would be a start? Who would be prepared to go to war, or send their children to war for 'Britain' now? What would you be fighting for?

He has put in a lot of effort into his videos, and I like them. He's rather polite so if he ever met us I would have to mind my Ps and Qs. I have watched some of his videos a few times to go over and over a route, so that we know what's coming. For example, he says there's a path from the canal at Burton-upon-Trent to McDonalds and B&Q, and I have identified said path from Google's satellite map. Very handy.

, it's just clear that the majority of the UK's voting population (those who could be bothered to vote) have seen the EU to be a Bad Thing Maybe the system needs altering so that those who can't be bothered to vote should go into the "status quo" box ie they default to voting for the existing arrangement. That would be good I don't personally remotely give a [word removed] about brexit but in all elections it would make sense if everyone knew that by not voting they would by default be voting for continuation of current system. Might make people think a bit more about it.

They can't. EU members trade on a block basis and can't make individual trade deals.
We can and do currently, via the EU. Hence the cheap tariffs because we're trading as part of the world's largest economy which gives us advantages. This will obviously change when we leave and we'll be having to negotiate deals with other nations on our own.
This is a load of shit.
So is this.
That we'll never use. It's just posturing.
"British Steel collapse: 25,000 jobs at risk as assets liquidated"
We have a trained, professional armed forces. They'll be going to war for whatever reason we go to war for.
BREXITER BINGO
HOUSE!

I would not personally rule out the use of nuclear weapons. At the end of the day the UK is a seriously cool country to live in and worth protecting. If anyone makes any wrong move I reckon its quite a clever strategy to have nukes. Its got the "there are no flies on them" look about it and I can fully understand why other countries want them.
Its just a shame that ours are controlled by the US and can not be pointed at them !!

Well, nothing to stop them from leaving the EU and dealing with the UK on their own terms.
