CRT put a stoppage alert out on Thursday 11th of June to fix a faulty paddle that had been broken for 18 months. All sorted now evidently. ( not sarcasm or a joke, this is their fix). I refer you to why I started posting after you posted this misleading info. If you want to hold CRT to account stop posting crap!

I think it's the trap door to Jenny's hole at Slapton lock. Ha ha! "I am a troll and I live in a hole."

This lock was left on Thursday as operational with this rope tied to the paddle. Lock 63 gu has been broken for 18 months. Two sentences. Lock 63 of the Grand Union Canal (main branch presumably?) and a paddle with the blue string. Are the two connected? Jenlyn - being deliberately vague again.

Four stars? I'd read the one star reviews first. Excellent Good Average Poor Terrible I would suggest in this instance the intention was for the stars to 'hide' letters of the alphabet. I believe the letters behind the stars are a "t", a "c", an "n" and a "u" but I am unsure of the order. Possibly an acronym?

Steve, ignore the 'jokey' comments ... they're just trying to wind you up It's easier with a windlass than a piece of blue string. I have a whole bag of windlasses.

Just to resurrect a thread. On the summit there are severe time restrictions and its closed on two days a week. You have to leave bottom paddles up on the locks. They wonder why they have water shortages. This is two separate locks.

Last night on Rochdale Canal.... 3 times now, high river water has dug this trench in the towpath. Each time they bring more stone. There are now 3 holes worth of material in the cut. The stone could be dug out with a digger and re used. If they had used concrete the first time, further expense would have been saved. They have repaired some of the locks further down with a concrete towpath, lock 12 for instance, where naughtyfox brought doom and disaster on us all, boxing day 15. There is now yet another pile of crusher run in a compound above the lock, waiting to fill the hole, before it goes in the canal.
