I would sympathise a little with John's concern that you may be trapping moisture and thus building-in a longer term problem. Be that as it may...in the old days the only thing to prime aluminium with was zinc chromate primer. Its very hard to get hold of now because it is extremley toxic. So if you don't have a contact in the aviation industry, the next best thing is U-Pol Acid-Etch primer, and you can get it at an average price from Halfords. Did I ever tell you how much I hate Halfords? Nearly as much as I hate B&Q... Am I right thinking that Halfords and B&Q aren't your favorite shops then ? Peter.

They are both symbolic of a real malaise on modern Britain I expect it happens everywhere but it really is quite depressing.

You can travel anywhere in the UK safe in the knowledge that shoddy, overpriced goods and indifferent, ignorant staff are never far away. Anyway never mind, I'm off to McDonalds for tea.

Another day on the job yesterday, pics taken of work in progress. Off back to the boat now to finish off and tidy up. Spending tonight on the boat, taking her back towards Hebden, fancy a walk up to the Great Rock.

Peter. how can someone not like yellow? mutter..mutter.. colour of sunshine...sunflowers... Ok ....was very pretty though Too bad that I can't answer for "someone", you'll have to ask someone yourself to find out. There used to be people that wanted to paint everything black a while ago (more than 50 years already) : For me the sunshine right now is way TOO much, it's over 40°C during the days, and the temperature at night stays between 20 and 24 . It's impossible to sleep like that, I like to see the sun, but can't handle these extreme temperatures. A compatriot of mine made a well known painting of sunflowers, it's good that he did, as I have no artistic talents. Peter.

Job done, apart from painting it yellow, maybe one day. The other pic is when it was originally built. I did like the oak.

Its very shiny..it may dazzle those who have the bright bright tunnel lights... thaty'll teach them...To adjust them in such a way that they'll illuminate there were it's usefull, which would more likely be the tunnel walls than straight ahead. Peter.
