Parkers timber in Nantwich will sort you out, and cut up. A proper timber yard selling good timber and boards. Might that be Potter? That's the firm I'd earmarked, it's the closest one to where I am at the moment.

Sorry, yes Potters. Its a bit hot and I was cutting the "lawn"at the time. Nothing to do with Lady Penelope.

Visited Potters, timber was bang on. Straight, very few knots, and exactly the sizes I ordered. 2 doors made and hung yesterday. Probably not time served joiner/ carpenter standard but they open and close without catching, and the shut line between the 2 doors is bang on. The cladding infills look great. I have the slightly more difficult fixed panel and single opener to do over the next couple of days.
Problem now is to match the stain/ varnish of the cladding on the walls and ceilings. I've seen 'vintage pine' but this seems a lighter colour than I have. I see my colour on lots of boats of my era, I'd describe it as a darkish, honey tone. Any ideas?

Stain it lighter than your original panelling, it will darken with age. Glad that Potters came up trumps, always found them to be good.
