A gallon every two hours would be about right getting on with it on a river. you may squeeze a gallon every 3 hours pottering along at walking pace on a canal. nail it and it will probably sub a gallon an hour 👍 OM636 is a peach of an engine - well done

OM 636 engine. Produced in 1.7 or 1.8 litre versions, indirect injection so more akin to a BMC than a Perky 4-108. On the Broads (No Locks thank the Lord) and 6/5 mph speed limits, we always reckoned that even with tides for and against we would average a gallon every 2 hours from a 1.5 BMC.

Why do people take perfectly well built boats and wreck them by nailing a tiny outboard to the back of them.
This is not the first time I have come across a butchered boat like this princess 🤦🏼♂️🧐

Thanks Gazza and Mouse Will not booting it, not to save fuel, not bothered about that its a little chill out while we get the boat to a new home. It doesnt sound to bad on fuel. So near 3 gallons a day. I will just fill the 20l and two jerry cans and see what i get, aslong as i have enough to do the first leg of the trip i am happy. BUT for leaving it in Salford for a night I have again trying to use Canal Plan AC, its doing my head in, `NOT KNOWN` when its has suggested the waterway/route, the settings must of changed or something. Ill have another go tonight. Anyway the Princess, i asked the chap who is selling it and he said the last owner said the engines were knackered and had them removed with the rest of the gear. then thought hey stick a 25 on the back !!!!!!
