Well I'm sure many would say yes but bear with me...
When I search the CRT stoppages list for the Llangollen canal all I get is a mention of Hurleston Locks plus some other inconsequential stuff, some involving Birmingham canals. No mention of the Ellesmere Boat festival which seems fully sanctioned by CRT (the Wharf is holding an open day and numerous CRT employees/volunteers are manning both the 'floating bridge' and providing a free boat taxi).
Question is... Should I be doing something different when searching CRT stoppage lists? and if yes what?

Are your pressing search after putting the canal name in?

Are your pressing search after putting the canal name in? That does seem to make a difference!
Doesn't tell me why an event that seems to take up (reserve) 2/3rds of the town's moorings isn't mentioned though.

Err... because it's not a Stoppage? What is disgusting about Ellemere is the 'turning circle' at the end of the arm, more of a slurry pit. Is the Chinese acupuncturist ("Cures All") still closed due to ill health?

Err... because it's not a Stoppage? Its supposed to be about stoppages and notices. Mooring rings all with 'tags' on them for reserved boats... CRT could have warned me (plus the other boaters who have also been caught out) - removing so many moorings for boats passing through has a knock on effect on nearby moorings, hence why I was reversing back up the arm at 9.45 last night! Now I now that one of the boats blocking the winding area is a Pizza boat I'd have moored alongside and placed my order!
