And you have been given the authority by the trust to broadcast this? I don't need authority to post it, it's in the public domain already as admitted by the boater himself. Could you provide a link to his admissions of causing damage to CRT-guardianship property? "There is also the occasional "experienced boater" (Carla Boo) who decides he knows the flight better than anyone else and breaks off the padlocks. All tailgates after 69 left open and 7 paddles left up causing the staff to work an extra 90 minutes to negate the possibility of empty pounds."

I was shocked and dismayed by the owners of this purple boat 'Carla Boo' today. They turned up too late to go down the Wigan flight, so decided to cut the ... They helped us at a lock last week and we wanted to say a huge thank you to them.

The 'Carla Boo' issue was all over face book the day it happened, along with reports that C&RT had been notified of their actions. You can enter the Wigan flight at 8.30am and moor in one of the long pounds if you wish to take your time ... but wouldn't want to personally. A wide beam did just that the day before our descent ... understand they had youth annoyance issues during the evening, but no actual damage. Timeout made a post thanking the WFC ... whether they were directed here or 'cut and pasted' here ... they were appreciative of assistance. I have met many, many boaters who appreciated the help of the WFC. Telemachus is the only boater I am aware of who complained about their actions. I am not impuning in any way Telemachus 's justified complaint ... however it does seem extraordinarily unfair to continue to berate the WFC and in particular leyther who was not even on duty the day of telemachus's transit. Unless someone can show otherwise, the opening/closing times are at the behest of C&RT ... volockies were introduced by C&RT, they are not an invading foreign force. I suspect no one will agree with me and leyther will continue to get a good kicking. Sorry leyther ... 90 % plus satisfaction rate cuts no ice here I'm afraid Rog

Have you reported this owner to CRT? If not, why not? Criminal damage to property under CRT guardianship is crime inflicted onto UK tax payers who are expected to pick up the tab. I haven't personally, but it has been reported. Thanks - it seems to be an old event. Or is Carla Boo still about and still snipping padlocks? I am split on all this. Whilst I do agree with Telemachus and others that CRT should have the locks in decent order so we can do them ourselves whenever we want to, I still have respect for lockies/volockies who have gone out of their way to be helpful. The number of vulgar and uncouth boaters we have met, however, far outweighs the number of unpleasant (zero) lockies we have met.

There doesnt appear to be a boat of that name on canal plan's listing. Jim Shead's list / Canal Planner is woefully out of date. Our boat still appears with the original name, and there is no contact address to let the owner(s) of the site know and update. Canal Planner is a great site, but needs freshening up.

It doesnt give info. on licence status, which is the true curtain twitchers interest. I did also check our old boat though whilst I was there. It's entry was last updated when we owned it in 2013 so foxy would appear to be correct.

Can you not comprehend English? You have from 8.30AM till 2pm to do the flight. I asked if you had to leave the flight by 2 or could start till 2 but you couldn't obviously understand that question either. I apologise, I misunderstood you. And happily accepted, no grudges here
