What happened to the old practice of welcoming new members here, and then responding to how they post ?
The forum lately seems to be in a constant witch hunt, racing to be first to 'out' imagined sock puppets.
There will be individuals who employ sock puppets and are intent on mischief ... there always has been.
But surely they 'win' if we react in this negative way.
When a genuine new member joins, they introduce themselves, tread a bit carefully until they find their feet, ask questions etc. When someone is “joining” who is an old hand at the forum, the behaviour is quite different, launching straight in with an attack or a known controversial viewpoint.
In the case of the latest newbie, if they had said they had a good experience with the Wigan volockies that would have been fine. As I’ve said, whether or not one welcomes volockies is a personal choice.
But they went too far saying “Wigan is lucky to have them” indicating we should all be grateful for their existence. I smell a rat at that point.
