Each time remainers pull the plug on a no deal exit, the bargaining threat of a no deal exit disappears making the likelihood of a deal... unlikely and the likelihood of no deal exit more likely. It's almost as if the remainers are fighting for a no deal exit just so they can say "told you so". exactly. anyone who has ever been part of a negotiating team understands the issues - obviously the vast majority of MPs don't have a clue about the real world. if we take no deal off the table then the EU has no motivation to reconsider any of the terms of the deal already proposed. it may be that the EU will call our bluff and just tell us that no deal is fine - but I would wager that a week after we have left with no deal the EU states will be agitating for trade deals to be agreed with the UK.

Today's proposals from JC could be interesting - set up an interim government with JC at the wheel............... presumably Diane Abbott will lead the negotiating team and will probably agree to a fee of 10 trillion Euros per day because she thinks like an ant pushing a grain of sand.

I find it truly worrying that a large proportion (perhaps the majority) of our elected representatives do not seem to understand the mechanism of negotiation.

Germany is edging into recession ... no deal exit or not, they WILL be desperate to maintain trade with the UK.
But maybe you're right ... it's not exit by default as a ruse to avoid blame ... but rather they are genuinely clueless.
Can only be about 12 weeks left to do something positive or we're out by default then.

I think MPs do understand plenty about the real world, that's why No Deal is stupid.

Are we allowed to lay bets here on TB? I'd bet £50 that the UK is still within the grasp of the EU by this time next year. The rich will simply not let anything get between them and their money. It looks like all the other EU counties want to stay dominated by the Germans. Why have the anti-democratic UK politicians not been locked up for treason? Why have they been allowed to collect their salaries for the past 3 years?

Having been in the K&A for three years now we have never been in the Barge inn at Honeystreet due to it being closed. We finally stopped for a pint and this happened

Having been in the K&A for three years now we have never been in the Barge inn at Honeystreet due to it being closed. I thought The Barge Inn at Honeystreet was a 'community pub' - they don't seem to have put much effort into keeping it open. That lot should be bulldozed into the canal - anti-democratic filth. I bet none of them have a valid CRT licence in their boat windows.
